Mel Kiper mock draft 2023: Bryce Young lands with Texans in trade-heavy top 10

The mocker master has also become a master craftsman.

A few years ago, someone let Mel Kiper know that he could project trades into his mock drafts to add a little fun and chaos to his formerly rigid order. Kiper went one step further in his latest mock design.

With three or more quarterbacks potentially making the top 10 — maybe even the top 5 — on April 28, Kiper has some bold predictions in his latest mock draft to fuel your mock draft imagination, including four quarterbacks selected, from which most come along the way Of trade.

Kiper projects several trades that are severely shaking the top 10:

– The texan Trade a spot at #1 overall for Bryce Young.

– The bears Trade in 2nd place overall and then trade again in the Foal.

— Ranked 2nd overall, the Foal Vote for Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud.

– The Panthers And Broncos Take a trade with Carolina moving up to 5th overall to overtake Kentucky’s Will Levis.

– Finally, when the dust settles, Chicago picks Georgia’s Jalen Carter with the No. 4 pick and the Seahawks pick Anthony Richardson with the No. 9 pick.

So if you’re not scoring at home, Kiper projects the top 10 as follows:

Choose team player position School
1 Houston Texans (by CHI) Bryce Young QB Alabama
2 Indianapolis Colts (from HOU via CHI) CJ Stroud QB State of Ohio
3 Arizona Cardinals Will Anderson EDGE Alabama
4 Chicago Bears (by IND) Jalen Carter DT Georgia
5 Carolina Panthers (from SEA to DEN) Will Levis QB Kentucky
6 Detroit Lions (via LAR) Christian Gonzales cb Oregon
7 Las Vegas robbers Devon Witherspoon cb Illinois
8th Atlanta Falcons Will McDonald IV EN State of Iowa

The bears are acting like bandits in this situation, but the question remains how much would the bears get in two trades and how far down would they be willing to drop. That is, if they ultimately decide to stick with Justin Fields via any of the available QBs ranked No. 1 overall.

The Seahawks also have a waiting quarterback who picks passer Anthony Richardson after trading with the Panthers. Seattle currently has an unresolved quarterback situation, with Geno Smith a free agent. Richardson would likely need a year on an NFL bench before he could take the reins, which could be a smart move for Seattle.

Still four quarterbacks in the top 10? Mel Kiper’s getting warmed up, baby.
