MLAX Continues to Receive Votes in Latest NAIA Coaches Top-10 Poll

KANSAS CITY, MON — Ottawa continues to receive votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 10 poll released by the national bureau on Wednesday. Keizer (Fla.) remains the No. 1 team in the latest edition of the 2023 Men’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Top 10 Poll.

survey methodology

  • The Evaluation Committee consists of eight evaluators – two evaluators per conference/group.
  • Each conference/group creates a conference score that evaluators use to compile their national vote. Only teams represented in the Conference Rating are eligible for national voting.
  • Each evaluator submits a top 15 ballot, which is used to generate the top 10 national standings and a list of other teams receiving votes.
  • The top 10 are determined by a scoring system based on how each voter ranks the top teams. Each voter counts 15 teams. A team gets 15 points for each first place vote, 14 for second place, 13 for third place, and so on down the list.
  • The highest and lowest placement for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team ranking is recalculated, giving each team an additional one for each ballot (including concession ballots) the teams appear on point is added.
  • Teams receiving only one point on the ballot are not considered “votes received”.
