Five-time Grammy Award-winning artist Naomi Raine of Maverick City Music recently shared the first song from her upcoming album Cover the earth.
She released “One Name (Jesus)” on March 17 with accompanying video of the live recording.
“‘One Name’ is about Jesus and my absolute dependence on him,” said Raine. “In recent years, people have heard my music, experienced my ministry, and come to know my voice and my name.”
“I just wanted to release a song about The Name that stands above any other name in a world where so much value is placed on celebrity and brand names,” she added.
“I want to give a message of hope,” she said. “But don’t hope in me or my gifts, but in the God who gives them both for free, and I pray that people will find hope as they hear the song.”
This is reported by the Christian Beat Cover the earth will be “a full-blown worship experience filled with upbeat and laudable songs that blend pop, R&B and more while delivering messages of encouragement and uplifting across ten songs and four ‘flow’ song transitions.”
The album features collaborations with other major Christian musicians including Natalie Grant, Chandler Moore, Todd Dulaney and Lizzie Morgan.
“‘Cover the Earth’ is a project about the goodness of God, his kindness and faithfulness,” Raine added. “It is a call to action for those who love God to seek Him and spread the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever we go.”
Cover the earth will be released on June 2nd.
Movieguide® has already reported about Raine:
You may know Naomi Raine from Maverick City Music hits like “Jireh” and “Promises.”
But God’s call to Raine to sing came at the age of two when she performed in her first concert. At the age of 7 she wrote her first song. Since then, Raine has won a Billboard Music Award, Dove Award, Stellar Award and a Grammy Award.
The 35-year-old recently sat down with Relevant Magazine to talk about her career at MCM and God’s calling in her life.
“It was like living in something you’ve always dreamed of, but it actually happened,” she said of her success. “I kept pinching myself. It was also an eye opener. I’ve always known that music is so much bigger than just the hits we might hear or see. And hearing all the categories, the different parts of the music being celebrated and given awards was just really good. I felt like a part of the music community.”
