Nashville school shooting latest: Police say shooter had no motive as Audrey Hale’s disturbing art revealed

Bodycam footage shows Nashville police searching a Christian school for a shooter

Nashville Police Commissioner John Drake said school gunner Audrey Hale was “under medical attention for an emotional disorder” and had hidden seven legally purchased guns in her family’s home.

Chief Drake said three of the guns were used in the horrific incident. He said Hale’s parents knew she had a gun but believed she had sold it and had no other guns.

He added that police “didn’t know” about the treatment, but that “her parents didn’t think she should own guns.”

Earlier, police released graphic bodycam footage of the moment officers shot dead Nashville mass shooting suspect Audrey Hale after six people were killed in an attack on a private Christian elementary school Monday morning.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) previously shared security camera footage of Hale, 28, arriving in a silver Honda Fit car at Covenant School in the Southtown suburb of Green Hills, parked and then driving to the school before entering via a side door, burst through double glass doors and opened fire on staff and students.

Students Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all nine, died in the incident, as did principal Katherine Koonce, 60, and staff Cynthia Peak and Mike Hill, both 61.

Police said the suspect, who was armed with two assault rifles and a pistol, was a former student at the school who methodically planned the attack and may have harbored “grudges” against the facility.
