NBA All-Star Weekend: Excitement, Entertainment, And Games In Salt Lake City
The much-anticipated NBA All-Star Weekend is finally here.
The All-Star break usually brings an exciting time for sports fans, starting with the Rising Star Game on Friday, the skill events on Saturday and the biggest spectacle, the All-Star Game, on Sunday.
This year’s celebrations will be held at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, home of Utah Jazz. The Rising Stars Challenge features some of the NBA’s finest rising stars pitted against each other, while the 72nd NBA All-Star Game will pay tribute to its legacy as the world’s most prestigious pickup game.
Saturday night during All-Star Weekend is known as the most exciting part of the weekend due to the electrifying atmosphere. At these events, high-flying athletes compete in the slam dunk competition, as do great shooters who compete in the 3-point competition.

Competitions that require skill are held on Saturday and the All-Star Game is held the following day, Sunday.
The Slam Dunk Contest consists of four contestants, each competing in two separate rounds.
In the first round, each participant makes two diving attempts.
The two contestants with the most points scored with their two dunks qualify to enter the final stage of the competition.
The finalists make two additional dunks, and the contestant who scores the most points on all attempts is declared the winner of the slam dunk contest.
Shaedon Sharpe, a rookie with the Trail Blazers, was due to compete in the slam dunk contest but rumor has it he’s decided to shift his focus to the rest of Portland’s campaign.
The eight participants in the three-point contest shoot from five different points along the arc of the field – four racks of four regular balls, each worth one point, one rack of five money balls, each worth two points, and a special rack of five money balls with two points each.
Players can choose the areas they prefer for the cue ball racks.
Two designated areas called “Star Zones” are located six feet past the 3-point line.
Each area has a single money ball worth three points.
By including these zones, the NBA increased the time limit from 1 minute to 1 minute and 10 seconds and the maximum score allowed from 34 to 40 points.
The competition consists of two phases: the first round, in which the top three participants advance to the final phase, and the final round.
The person with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.
