NBA free agency tracker 2023: Live updates on breaking news, signings and trades
When the clock strikes 6 p.m. ET on Friday, June 30, negotiations will begin.
There wasn’t much chaos expected during this year’s free agency period, but the latest rumors surrounding superstar guards James Harden and Kyrie Irving have caused quite a stir.
Other stars like Draymond Green, Fred VanVleet and Khris Middleton are sure to add excitement.
While players won’t be able to officially sign their contracts until Thursday, July 6th at 12:01pm ET, many of them will agree to the terms over the next few days. Sporting News will follow all major signings and transfers.

Suns gain more bank depth with Yuta Watanabe

The Suns waste no time building their support team, adding sharp-shooting forward Watanabe to a group of five other free agents.
Watanabe knew Durant from his time in Brooklyn. Last season he shot an incredible 44.4 percent from 3-point distance.
The Lakers are causing a stir with the signing of Gabe Vincent

The Lakers weren’t tied to any rumors about Heat playoff standout Vincent, but they landed the undrafted star on a three-year, $33 million deal. Vincent was vital for Miami on their way to the NBA Finals and was rewarded with a good contract.
Cam Johnson gets paid in Brooklyn

Johnson was supposed to be a hot commodity as a restricted free agent, but the Nets ended those talks before they could even begin. The talented forward has signed a four-year, $108 million deal to remain in Brooklyn.
Jakob Poeltl stays with the Raptors with a lucrative deal

The Raptors have retained their defensive anchor. Poeltl has signed a four-year, $80 million deal to remain in Toronto and join the Raptors’ frontline alongside Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes.
Khris Middleton returns to the Bucks on a three-year, $102 million deal

Looking to maximize their championship window around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have retained one of their key contenders in Middleton.
Middleton has signed a three-year, $102 million deal to remain in Milwaukee and seek a second championship.
Kyrie Irving returns to the Mavericks on a three-year, $126 million deal

After many rumors surrounding Irving’s possible departure from the Mavericks, Dallas has re-signed its all-star point guard to a three-year, $126 million deal. Third year will be a player option, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
In 20 games with the Mavericks, Irving averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. Dallas closed their backcourt with him and Luka Doncic.
Kristaps Porzingis signs a two-year, $60 million extension with the Celtics

The Celtics made one of the biggest blockbuster moves of the offseason to date when they signed Porzingis in a three-team trade with the Wizards and the Grizzlies. Boston appears ready to make a commitment to the 27-year-old All-Star, signing Porzingis on a two-year, $60 million extension through the 2025-26 season.
Jerami Grant returns to the Trail Blazers with a $160 million extension

Lillard wanted the Trail Blazers to bring Grant back because he wants to build a competitive team, and the Portland front office listened. Grant has received a five-year, $160 million contract extension to stay with the Trail Blazers.
Bruce Brown signs massive $45 million contract with the Pacers

Brown proved to be one of the cheapest deals in free agency last season and played a key role in giving the Nuggets their first NBA title in franchise history. Now he will capitalize on his contributions and sign a $45 million, two-year contract with the Pacers.
Kyle Kuzma re-signs $102 million deal with the Wizards

Kuzma was one of the bigger names in the free-agent market, but he has decided to return to Washington on a four-year, $102 million deal. The 27-year-old ended a career year with the Wizards averaging 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
Lakers sign reserve forward Taurean Prince

The Lakers have signed 29-year-old forward Prince to a one-year, $4.5 million deal. The seven-year veteran has averaged 10.4 points and 3.7 rebounds throughout his career while shooting a solid 37.2 percent from 3 balls.
The Suns have signed Drew Eubanks, Josh Okogie, Keita Bates-Diop, Damion Lee and Chimezie Metu to the bench

The Suns need to add star foursome Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Deandre Ayton to their roster.
They added five substitutes, signing big reserves Eubanks and Metu and reserve forward Bates-Diop, while re-signing reserve wings Okogie and Lee.
Draymond Green returns to the Warriors on a four-year, $100 million deal

And the first free agency contract belongs to… Draymond Green! The Warriors have retained their franchise cornerstone with a four-year, $100 million deal. The contract includes a player option in the fourth year.
Nets send Joe Harris to Pistons

Rumor: The Nets are sending Harris and two future second-round picks to the Pistons to save on pay and create a trade exception. Harris, a 3-point shooter with a 43.7 percent career rating, will earn $19.9 million in the final year of his contract.
Harrison Barnes signs a three-year contract extension with the Kings

Rumor: Barnes and the Kings have agreed a three-year, $54 million contract extension. Barnes played a key veteran role for Sacramento last season, averaging 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
James Harden takes player option with the 76ers

Rumor: Harden secured his player option for the 2023-24 season, but he and the 76ers “are beginning to work together on evaluating trade scenarios.” Harden probably played his last game with the 76ers.
