Nets schedule 2022-23: When will Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving play against teams involved in trade rumors?
Well, that could get awkward.
A month and a half away from his trade request, Kevin Durant remains a member of the Nets. The two-time NBA Finals MVP has made it clear he doesn’t want to be on Brooklyn’s roster as the 2022-23 season begins, but general manager Sean Marks is not close to finalizing a deal.
Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving waits for the Durant domino to fall. The seven-time All-Star has a year left with the Nets after accepting his off-season player option, but he could be transferred if they send Durant to another team.
Until the Nets actually pull the trigger, however, their dynamic duo is stuck in Brooklyn. If Durant and Irving decide to play – a Ben Simmons-like holdout can’t be ruled out entirely – when will they face off against the teams that have been interested in acquiring them?

Celts
Several league executives have told The Athletic’s Sam Amick that they consider Boston to be the “unofficial frontrunner” in the Durant sweepstakes, but The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach recently reported that the Celtics are “not close to a deal.”

heat
According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang, the Nets have shown “little interest” in the Heat’s offers. Brooklyn has shown interest in Bam Adebayo, but Miami has not included the 25-year-old big man in its bids.
(It’s also worth noting that the Nets can only acquire Adebayo if they trade Ben Simmons due to an NBA rule regarding players with designated rookie extensions.)

lakers
Irving has only been consistently associated with the Lakers. He would be a great fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but there are still major hurdles to be cleared in the negotiations between the two teams, including how much draft compensation the Nets would receive in a deal.
