New England Patriots: Estimated finish, key signings and fantasy stars
In the 22nd installment of a 32-part series, we profile every National Football League team with a prediction of where each team will end up in their division, key off-season acquisitions, and their top fantasy stars. Today we’re looking at the New England Patriots.

Key off season acquisition

The Patriots made a significant acquisition during the offseason when they acquired wide receiver DeVante Parker in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. The Louisville, Kentucky, native was traded for a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2021, Parker had 40 catches for 515 yards and two touchdowns. During his career, Parker has played seven seasons with the Dolphins, catching 338 for 4,727 yards and 24 touchdowns.

There are four patriots to consider in fantasy pools. At kicker, Nick Folk from Los Angeles, California successfully scored 36 of 39 field goals and 42 of 47 conversions. Folk is second among kickers behind Las Vegas Raiders’ Daniel Carlson.

The Patriots are third on defense behind the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots’ 303 counterpoints were the second lowest points allowed in 2021. Only the Bills gave up fewer points (289).

Damien Harris is eighth at running back. Last year, the Richmond, Kentucky native, 2021 had rushes for 929 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2021, as well as 18 catches for 132 yards. Keeping in mind Harris struggled with a hamstring injury last season, and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is expected to introduce more timeshare this year as more playing time is expected from Rhamondre Stevenson.

In the end, Hunter Henry from Little Rock, Arkansas is in seventh place. Last year he had 50 catches for 603 yards and nine touchdowns. This was Henry’s first season in New England after five seasons with the Chargers.

Estimated end

The Patriots are clearly the second best team in the AFC East. Quarterback Mac Jones is now a year under his belt and should get even better in his second NFL season. The Patriots Foundation will be her defense this year. The Bills are stronger than New England, but the Patriots are way better than the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.
