New For 2023: Beretta A300 Ultima Sporting
The Beretta A300 series of semi-automatic shotguns have earned a reputation for offering quality and reliable firearms at an affordable price. In 2021, the company introduced the Ultima upgrade of the A300 design. Since then, the company has tailored A300 Ultima models for specific tasks from turkey hunting to home defense. For 2023, the company is launching a model specifically designed for competitive skeet shooting: the A300 Ultima Sporting shotgun.

The Beretta A300 is a gas-powered design that uses a self-cleaning piston and cylinder and a self-regulating exhaust valve. The A300 Ultima Sporting shotgun has all the features of the Ultima upgrade. These include a redesigned aluminum receiver with a lower profile and larger ejection port, as well as an enlarged charging handle and bolt trigger. Ultima shotguns also feature Beretta’s “Kick-Off” recoil reduction mechanism with hydraulic dampers in the buttstock.

The A300 Ultima Sporting shotgun is offered in both 20ga versions. and 12-ga. Chambers that accept both 2 3/4″ and 3″ shells. The 20-ga. The model has a 28-inch barrel, 48-inch overall length and weighs 7.2 pounds. The 12-ga. The model features a 30-inch barrel, is 50.5 inches long overall, and weighs 7.6 pounds.
Both versions have a draw length of 14.25 inches and the shaft is adjustable with a shim system for throw, drop and draw length. Chrome lined barrels are threaded for MobilChoke pattern choke tubes and the shotguns come complete with modified and improved cylinder extension tubes. The sight system consists of a 7mm stepped rail with a white front bead and a center bead.

The Ultima Sporting shotgun stands out visually from its A300 siblings with its neon green slide, magazine cap and pistol grip cap. In the near future, Beretta will be offering these accent pieces in a variety of colors. The upper is synthetic and features a Knock Out Gray colorway with a black strap pattern.
