NFL odds Week 5: How to bet Titans-Commanders, pick

The Tennessee Titans (2-2) play the Washington Commanders (1-3) on Sunday in a game that will see the two youngest NFL teams switch mascots.

The Titans were known as the Tennessee Oilers from 1997 to 1998 after the franchise relocated from Houston. This is the first season Washington’s teams have overtaken the Commanders.

Tennessee leads the all-time series 7-6 as teams split the last 10 games.

Here’s everything you need from a Titans Commanders game betting perspective, from point spread, moneyline, total over/under and expert picks (odds via FOX Bet):

Choose over the FOX Sports Betting Analyst Warren Sharp:

The only positive thing that can really be said about the Washington Commanders’ four weeks is that they played a brutal schedule and it can’t get much worse.

Washington has played three top-six teams so far this season. That jaguars play tremendously on both sides of the ball, the Eagles have the best metrics in the NFL and the cowboys play well above their heads for four weeks.

Now Washington will be building a Titans defense that has several areas they should be able to exploit. Provided Carson Wentz does not cost the team another game, which is quite possible.

The Titans are the No. 1 most sensitive team when it comes to action in the NFL. And Washington uses the game well above average.

Check out Tennessee’s splits for game action on early downs in the first three quarters of the game:

Vs. play action:

+0.66 EPO/att (#32)

Without game action:

-0.23 EPA/att (#9)

Washington leverages game action at the NFL’s No. 1 highest rate in early downs in the first three quarters.

So on paper, this is a great matchup for Washington.

However, nearly 50% of the Commander’s play-action attempts are thrown behind the line of scrimmage.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the Titans this season. But they are one of the best offenses of the season.

The Titans have hit on 12 of 19 drives (63.2%) in the first half this season, the highest ratio in the league, but they’ve hit on just one of their 23 possessions in the second half of this season, the lowest ratio in the league.

Tennessee has had a touchdown in every single opener of the season, the only team to reach that mark.

They average 4 points per drive on their first four drives, which is the highest scoring in the NFL.

Her 50% TD rate on her first four drives is also #1 in the NFL.

The Titans could have some success writing some explosive passes on their early offense this week against Washington.

Washington has the No. 30 defense against explosive passes while the Titans have the No. 2 most explosive pass attack in the NFL.

Washington has averaged 15.3 points in the first half, including just three for the Jaguars in Week 1.

While I have no opinion on that and think the Commanders could put up a fight, I think the Titans’ offense is doing enough early enough to top their team’s 10-10.5 first-half point total.

SELECT: Titan’s team totaled over 10.5 in the first half
