NFL suspends Alvin Kamara and Chris Lammons three games

The National Football League has suspended running back Alvin Kamara of Atlanta, Georgia and Indianapolis Colts cornerback Chris Lammons of Lauderhill, Florida three games each on Friday for their actions during a fight outside a Vegas Strip Club bar called Drai’s on February 5, 2022 according to Safid Deen of USA Today. The incident happened prior to the 2022 Pro Bowl which was played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 6, 2022.

A man was injured during the fight. Kamara and Lammons were accused of violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Kamara and Lammons will be able to participate in training camp and preseason games, but not the first three NFL regular season games.

Kamara did not attend the Pro Bowl in 2023. During the 2022 NFL regular season he had 2234 rushes for 897 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Kamara also had 57 catches for 490 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. With the loss of Kamara, it appears Jamaal Williams of Rialto, California will be the Saints’ top running back. Williams was signed by the Saints on March 17 after playing the last two seasons with the Detroit Lions.

Lammons was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs during the incident. He is with the Indianapolis Colts now. In 2022 for the Chiefs, Lammons had seven combined tackles (three solo tackles and four assisted tackles), and one forced fumble. The forced fumble came in a 41-31 Chiefs win over the Indianapolis Colts. Lammons was also part of the Chiefs team that won the Super Bowl. Kansas City beat Philadelphia 38-35.
