Nicola Bulley – latest news: Police recover ‘stained glove’ from field near where dog-walker vanished
The head of a specialist diving company looking for the missing Nicola Bulley speaks up
Officers searching for 45-year-old Nicola Bulley were handed a “stained glove” from a field near where she was last seen on January 27.
Two hikers found the glove about seven miles from the bank where Ms Bulley’s cellphone was found.
Authorities took the blue ski glove from the scene, although they claim the main line of inquiry – that Ms Bulley fell into the River Wyre – hasn’t changed, reports have said The Telegraph.
Ms Bulley disappeared while walking her springer spaniel, Willow, in the village of St Michael’s in Wyre, Lancashire, after dropping her two daughters, aged six and nine, from school.
Police are expected to hold a press conference later in the day to combat disinformation surrounding her disappearance.
Her partner Paul Ansell has reportedly expressed “frustration” at the progress of the police search as the hunt for Ms Bulley enters its third week.
“He’s struggling to get the answers he wants,” forensic expert Peter Faulding was quoted as saying.

Nicola Bulley’s partner is ‘frustrated’ by the police investigation.
Nicola Bulley’s partner has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of her search, a forensic search specialist involved in the case claimed.
Paul Ansell, 44, also urged authorities to hold a joint press conference last week but was “absolutely appalled” when they didn’t respond to his request, Mail Online reported.
“He has a relationship with the police family liaison officers but I think he’s struggling to get the answers he wants,” forensic expert Peter Faulding was quoted as saying by the Mail Online.
“He has a connection with them, but I think there’s a problem. He vented his frustration to the family liaison officers in front of me last week when I was there.”
“Paul is just lost, really. He doesn’t have a partner, the kids miss their mother and he’s completely in pieces.”

Dive expert says Nicola Bulley would have been waist-deep in river ‘if she wasn’t pushed’
Missing Nicola Bulley would only have ended up in “waist-deep” water if she slipped and fell into the river – unless she was pushed, a forensic search expert has claimed.
“If she slid down the embankment, she wouldn’t get far,” he said. “The rocks would hold her in place and she would only have been waist deep. She could have stood there and asked for help because people are walking by.”

Nicola Bulley: Police have been instructed to improve communications to stop vigilantes
Police have ordered changes to the way they communicate with the public in the Nicola Bulley case in a bid to stop vigilante searches.
Former Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding told Sky News that police should try to “put other people at ease and stop people from going to that scene and taking things into their own hands”.
“That can hinder a lot. It really can.
He added: “There are police divers … who are experts themselves – they don’t necessarily need other people.
“But now you come out and say, ‘We did this, we did this CCTV, we did this research’ to stop people.
“It’s the messaging, that’s the problem for me.”

“Vile” Nicola Bulley voicemail sent to local council
Nicola Bulley Parish Council has been forced to take steps to protect its members after receiving some ‘vile’ phone calls over the disappearance of the mother-of-two (Andy Gregory reports).
Wyre Council has now been forced to remove contact details of councilors in Ms Bulley’s local community of Inskip with Sowerby from its website after some received a spate of late-night phone calls.
Five of the six council members received calls between 12:45 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Saturday, with all but one simply hanging up when they answered, a council source said The mirror.
This was announced by Lancashire Police The Independent that they were investigating the matter, with a copy of an “insulting” voicemail referring to the missing dog walker being handed over to police.

Police speak to fishermen about Nicola Bulley’s disappearance
Lancashire Police are said to have contacted a fishing club yesterday to ask who was allowed to fish in the river on the day of the disappearance.
A local fisherman tells Email online: “It sounds like they were trying to find out if anyone was fishing the river that day and saw something, but no one was.”
He said police contacted the fishermen on the first day of the disappearance, but only to ask how deep the water was where she went missing.
Emphasizing that there were no fishermen there on January 27, the angler added, “The only people out on the river that day were dog walkers. I can guarantee you that.”
