NRL 2023: Every side’s confirmed team list for Round 1
The wait is finally over. The opening round is almost here, with the first ‘Team List Tuesday’ dropping ahead of what is sure to be eight exciting fixtures to kick off another blockbuster NRL season.
The Roosters and Sharks have suffered major blows with key men sidelined for the first week of action, while Wayne Bennett has made the decision to hand a young gun a start.

Josh Hodgson replaces Reed Mahoney at hooker, while there are places on the bench for fellow new recruits Jack Murchie and Jirah Momoisea.
Bailey Simonsson (shoulder) is a surprise inclusion in the backline after missing all of the pre-season.

Storm team news:
The nucleus of the side remains the same, but the loss of experienced forwards Felise Kaufusi and the Bromwich brothers will leave a big hole.
Craig Bellamy has opted to hand new signing Eliesa Katoa a starting spot in the backrow with Trent Loiero named on the opposite edge. Josh King takes over at lock after the exit of Brandon Smith.
Justin Olam suffered a broken arm in the trials and misses the start of the season with Will Warbrick earning a place in the backline following strong form in the trials.
Ryan Papenhuyzen is still a long way from returning, so Nick Meaney deputises at fullback.

Jackson Hastings will start the season in the No.7 jumper, alongside his new halves partner Kalyn Ponga.
The Queenslander will play at five-eighth for the first time in four years with Lachlan Miller starting at fullback.
In another significant change to the backline, Dane Gagai (hamstring) will miss the clash through injury and is replaced by Enari Tuala. Greg Marzhew isn’t in the squad.
Adam Elliott and Jack Hetherington will add plenty of punch and experience to the forward pack but will have to do so from the bench in the opening round.

Broncos team news:
Reece Walsh will have to wait at least another week to make his Broncos debut after the fullback was ruled out with a facial fracture.
“Walshie is not quite ready to go…it is 27 rounds, and we will rest him up,” Patrick Carrigan revealed on Monday.
Selwyn Cobbo will claim the No.1 jersey, with the returning Jesse Arthars taking the vacant wing spot.
Kobe Hetherington (biceps) will miss the start of the season due to injury, while new recruit Martin Taupau has earned a spot on the bench in a settled Brisbane side.

Plenty of changes to the Canterbury roster heading into the season, starting with head coach Cameron Ciraldo.
Reed Mahoney will replace the departed Jeremy Marshall-King at hooker, while Viliame Kikau and Ryan Sutton start in a new-look forward pack.
Tevita Pangai Junior (calf) and Luke Thompson (ankle) have both been ruled out of the Dogs’ lineup for the opening round of the season. Chris Patolo is also sidelined, leaving the side without three of their front-row options.
Fa’amanu Brown, who joined from the Tigers, starts at lock. Fellow new signing Franklin Pele gets a spot on the bench alongside youngster Jacob Preston.

Xavier Savage suffered a jaw injury during the trials, which has forced a backline reshuffle with Sebastian Kris getting the nod at fullback.
In another injury blow for the Raiders, Josh Papalii misses out with Pasami Saulo starting at prop alongside Joe Tapine.
Danny Levi has won the battle to be startng hooker as Zac Woolford has dropped down to the reserves.

Plenty of changes to the Gold Coast roster has led to some tough decisions for Justin Holbrook around his spine players.
Jayden Campbell is the unlucky man to miss out on a starting role, with AJ Brimson better suited at fullback. Kieran Foran will slot into the five-eighth spot alongside Tanah Boyd at halfback.
Sam Verrills will become the Titans’ first-choice hooker, with Erin Clark included on the bench.
Patrick Herbert (knee) and Brian Kelly (suspension) will both be sidelined for the start of the season which has allowed Alofiana Khan-Pereira to come in and make his NRL debut on the wing.

Dragons team news:
Talatau Amone will miss the start of the season after being stood down by the NRL. Jayden Sullivan (hamstring) is battling an injury in pre-season, but could be fit to play in the opening round. Jack Bird (knee) is in doubt for the Dragons early games after undergoing minor surgery for a meniscus issue.
Andrew McCullough has officially hung up the boots, which will likely see Jacob Liddle grab the No.9 role to start the year – although watch out for young gun Haele Finau, who has moved to the club during pre-season.
Cody Ramsey will not feature this season after being hospitalised with ulcerative colitis, which opens the door for Tyrell Sloan to return.
Jack de Belin should move back into his preferred position of lock on a permanent basis, while new recruit Ben Murdoch-Masila should grab a bench role.
Francis Molo has been cleared to start the season, with Samoa’s World Cup matches counting towards his suspension, but could face NRL sanction over an off-field incident.
