NRL Round 14 tips: Betting preview, odds and predictions

It looks set to be an interesting weekend of NRL action, with a number of key players being named after Origin Game 1 as replacements.

The Tigers and Raiders will open the game on Friday night before the Sharks and Broncos meet in arguably the deciding clash of the round on Saturday.

The Storm then hope to regain the upper hand over the Cowboys when they visit Townsville on Sunday.

below are The sports news‘ Betting predictions and best bets for Round 14.

Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders prediction, tip, best bet

The Raiders rebounded last week with an impressive win over the Rabbitohs but now face a potentially tricky clash against the Tigers on Friday night.

Hudson Young has been named as a post-Origin substitute for Canberra but with a day off his effectiveness could be limited.

The visiting side are also without Jarrod Croker, who is rested ahead of his 300th home game next week.

As for the Tigers, after a miserable start to the season, they’ve begun to produce some positive performances, with their most recent success being a 66-18 win over the Cowboys.

Apisai Koroisau is expected to return to Hooker after Origin, while Stefano Utoikamanu is likely to be available as an unused reserve for the Blues.

In front of their home fans, we support the Tigers to fulfill their task in a close duel.

BEST BET: Wests Tigers Win ($2.15 with BlueBet)

Gold Coast Titans vs. South Sydney Rabbitoh’s prediction, tip, best bet

After Titans winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira was eliminated in Round 12, she will return to the first team this weekend against the Rabbitohs.

His dismissal was a surprising decision as the 21-year-old had already scored 12 tries this season.

He’ll likely want to prove a point on Saturday so we expect he’ll find the line again.

Although Gold Coast enter the game as underdogs, there have been occasional upsets throughout the season, with Khan-Pereira often taking center stage.

BEST BET: Alofiana Khan-Pereira scores a try (odds to be announced)

Cronulla Sharks vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction Tip Best Bet

The Broncos are hoping to retake second place in the standings from the Sharks on Saturday night.

Surprisingly, Brisbane have named all five Origin stars on the team sheet, but there is of course skepticism about fitness.

Cronulla is bolstered by the return of barnstorming center Siosifa Talakai, who has yet to reach the same level he showed in early 2022.

Assuming Nicho Hynes doesn’t play any big minutes in the opening game of the Origin series, he will be crucial to continue Cronulla’s strong form.

In front of a crowded Shark Park, the home team should have the energy and staff needed for a strong win.

BEST BET: Cronulla Sharks -4.5 ($1.95 with BlueBet)

North Queensland Cowboys vs. Melbourne Storm prediction, tip, best bet

There’s no doubt that the Storm are a better team than the Cowboys on paper.

However, this game represents a potential blip for Craig Bellamy’s team.

Melbourne have won a remarkable nine of the last ten games between the sides but their most recent head-to-head, a 36-6 defeat at Townsville, has shown they are not invincible.

North Queensland Origin stars have been placed in reserves for the time being and the potential for them to bounce back after a few days off would mean a big bounce.

It’s been a challenging season for the Cowboys so far, but their performance against the Eels showed how tough they are, even if the second half blew them away.

This is a game the Storm should win, but North Queensland Stadium is never an easy place to visit. We’re tipping the Cowboys to get close in this game.

BEST BET: North Queensland Cowboys +6.5 ($1.90 with BlueBet)
