So we just found out that tonight’s main event – and co-main event, a title fight between Ilunga Makabu and Badou Jack – will feature open scoring.

After four rounds of each bout (if they go that far) the fighters will be informed of the judges’ scores up to that point.

This means when a fighter is badly behind they know they need to seek a finish!

The YouTube star-turned-boxer made a peace offering on the matter by giving Fury a “really nice designer baby branded gift” ahead of their fight tonight in Saudi Arabia.

After a tense press conference between the rivals this week, Paul and Fury sat down for a face-to-face interview.

Paul, 26, said: “I do apologize for leaking the announcement of your baby. To be honest, I didn’t want to say that beforehand. I just want to say that I didn’t want to leak this announcement. I actually have a gift for Bambi that’s like a really nice designer baby brand.”

He presented Fury with a white ribbon-locked box that the 23-year-old once had island of love candidate accepted.

Paul told Sky Sports: “One hundred percent. I think it’s a massive fight. There is hostility.

“His team is ready, my team is ready. We are in talks. Pretty much everything is queued up and ready to go.

“So I’ll get through Sunday and then move on to Nate Diaz.”

Tommy Fury yesterday insisted he wasn’t ready to “play games” and claimed he pushed Jake Paul at the weigh-in to prove to the American that “this is my show”.

The pair met in Saudi Arabia on Saturday after successfully weighing up for their much-anticipated fight tonight.

Tension was broken when Paul appeared to grab Fury’s chest, resulting in Tyson Fury’s brother shoving the YouTube star-turned-boxer, throwing him off balance.

“You see fear in the man’s eyes,” Fury told iFL TV. “He didn’t know what to say or do, this is my show. He talked a lot, he has to support him. He goes to bed early. [I pushed him] He’s not getting away from here just so he can see that this is my show. It’s me. I saw fear in his eyes.”

“Are we going to do a video?” Jake asks Paul, half directing the question to me and half to his rep on the Zoom call. “Um, yes?” I answer. “I don’t usually upload the video from these types of chats, but…”

But it seems strange to be interviewing one of the biggest screen presences of the last decade and not have him appear on screen.

As I start by asking what the biggest misconception about Jake Paul is, he thinks for a moment before laughing, “I think people… they don’t think I’m a real person. And I think they often judge me by my past instead of who I am today. I think as humans we do that naturally, so I get it. But yeah, I think that’s it…

“And they compare me to my brother,” he quickly adds, referring to Logan, 27, who has followed a similar path to his younger sibling. “Whenever he does something wrong, I get in trouble for it. I’d probably say that’s the biggest thing.”

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Fury – half brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury – is 8-0 (4 KOs) as a pro.
