The Porsche Taycan – the brand’s first all-electric production vehicle – was presented in 2019 and is thus approaching its fourth anniversary. While it doesn’t look dated by any means, the Taycan’s design can be traced back to around 2015, when the Mission E concept debuted as a preview of the future production EV. Porsche knows that the market is constantly evolving and is working on a refresh for the zero-emission vehicle to keep it fresh in the showrooms for another three to four years.
We have new Taycan prototype spy photos – almost 50 spy shots in total – showing the three different body styles of the model. Our spies currently in the northern regions of Europe caught the standard Taycan sedan/liftback, Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo, all of which were minimally disguised. This isn’t the first time we’ve shared spy photos of the revamped electric vehicle from Stuttgart either.

At this early stage of development, it looks like Porsche will keep styling changes to a minimum. There’s a snazzy shroud covering the front bumper, making it look sleeker with no air vents, although that won’t be the case when the production version arrives. The headlights also appear to be unchanged for now, but changes could be made to their shape or internal graphics to better match the redesigned front fascia.
There are no Porsche or Taycan logos on the back, but the rear bumper also hides some changes with body-colored camouflage. We can’t tell if the taillights will be modified, but that’s something to expect for a mid-cycle refresh. As a side note, all the prototypes from the photos have tow hooks attached with orange stickers.
Speculations are circulating on the internet that the Taycan’s facelift could bring a new high-performance version. Our spies have caught a TDI-badged prototype which is thought to have a three-motor powertrain producing around 1,000bhp, but nothing official has come out of Stuttgart yet. In any case, we believe that the refreshed Taycan will be released towards the end of this year as a 2024 model.
