Portland are still undefeated after an overtime win against Medicine Hat on Saturday. They led 3-1 with 3 minutes to go and gave up 2 goals in 50 seconds to lose a point in the standings but regained it in overtime against Kyle Chyzowski’s winner. Luca Cagnoni had a great game from the blueline and scored a goal, Josh Zakreski had a goal and an assist and Jack O’Brien had two assists.

The schedule now gives them a little test, with an overnight trip to Spokane and then back to Portland for a Tuesday game against Edmonton.

Klassen missed Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury, snapping a consecutive game streak that lasted at 95. I would guess he wouldn’t play. On the other hand, they brought Nguyen back after he missed a game last weekend, breaking a long consecutive game streak.

Fromm-Delorme has points in all 4 games and Stefan has scored in both games since his return.

Lead forward: Klassen (7 points/3 games), Fromm-Delorme (5/4), O’Brien (5/4), Stefan (3/2), Chyzowski (3/4), Zakreski (3/4).

Leading Defenders: Cagnoni (5/4), Sotheran (4/4), Ryder Thompson (3/4).

goalkeeper
20 74-Dante Giannuzzi (71)
18 Jan 31 Špunar (1)

Giannuzzi was good at times in the third half on Saturday but Medicine Hat’s late goals ruined his numbers.

You would think it would be Špunar in this game.

Save percent: Giannuzzi .904, Špunar .913.

Spokane suffered a dreadful 3-1 loss to Edmonton, who didn’t win a game and were then beaten 7-1 at Tri-City. They’ve shared four games but their two wins have been in Victoria, who has yet to win a game and has been beaten worse by everyone else they’ve played against.

After making the playoffs last season before being swept by Kamloops, the rebuild continues, led by import Tommaso De Luca, possibly the NHL’s first Italian star, 1 defenseman Sage Weinstein. They had a day on Saturday and are looking to raid undefeated Portland on Sunday night.

Forward
20 16-Cade Hayes (144)
19 28-Hunt Bertholet (107)
10-Blake Swetlikoff (102)

15-Kooper Gizowski (52)
16 34-Berkly Catton (17)
37-Cameron Parr (2)
22- Cole Wadsworth (1)

DeLuca has held his own in a U20 league in Switzerland for the last two seasons as a 15-year-old and then as a 16-year-old.

Catton had 4 points in 9 games as a 15-year-old and appears to be on the way as a 16-year-old.

Gizowski is a second-round pick who made 47 appearances as a 16-year-old. Most of his previous work has been about the power game.

Bertholet was good after coming from Winnipeg midway through last season and appears to be a key player again.

Lead forward: Gizowski (6/4), De Luca (4/4), Bertholet (3/4), Cheveldayoff (3/4), Catton (3/4).

defender
20 25-Raegan Wiles (131)

18 3-Brayden Crampton (67)
4-Ben Bonni (23)
17 24-string tartar (72)
16 18-Will McIsaac (9)

Sward is a 5th-round pick from Nashville.

Leading Defenders: Wiles (3/4), Gross (3/4), Weinstein (3/4).

goalkeeper
19 30-Mason Beaupit (66)
18 31-Manny Panghli (23)
17 33-Cooper Michaluk (11)

The goalkeeping numbers are ugly. The 6-6 Beaupit is a 4th rounder for the Sharks.

Save percent: Beaupit .848, Michaluk .845.
