Premier League relegation odds 2022/2023: Who can save Southampton?
Jesse Marsch looked set to become the new Southampton manager but it appears talks with the former Leeds United boss have been cut short, leaving Saints in a difficult position.
The American was released by Elland Road on 6 February 2023, with Leeds on a seven-game winless run and just above the relegation zone on goal difference. After Marsch’s elimination, they drew 2-2 at Old Trafford – despite losing a two-goal advantage – but were then beaten 2-0 at home by Manchester United four days later.
On February 14, Marsch looked set to return squarely to a Premier League dugout, replacing Nathan Jones, who became Southampton’s longest-serving manager of the Premier League era when they took him down after nine losses in 14 games, last against 10, -Man wolves fired.
However, with a deal now seemingly off, Southampton will have to turn to someone else for a high-profile save.

Premier League relegation rates 2022/23
After 22 games southampton are one of just two teams set to be relegated from the Premier League this season. Only Bournemouth are firmer favorites for relegation to the Championship, at least on Sky Bet in the UK.
LeedsUnited are also among the likely contenders to finish in the last three and even the last three wolves – whose 2-1 win in Southampton led to the Saints’ second managerial change of the season – are in difficult territory despite being five points down in 18th place.

everton are also in deep trouble, although the appointment of Sean Dyche as manager appears to have increased their chances of survival despite Monday’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
