Prince George will learn how to be King in leadership lessons, according to royal expert
Prince George (opens in new tab) he is expected to learn about his royal duties and the importance of the constitution in class to prepare him for his future role as king.
Despite being only nine years old, Prince George has set his future in stone. He is currently second in line to the throne with his father, Prince William (opens in new tab), the only king above him. The pressure must be intimidating, especially considering his age, but the young prince has people around him who will gently guide him and offer support throughout his journey to the throne.
As reported in the New York Post, Prince George is set to take leadership classes to teach him all the skills needed for his future role and take various courses to prepare him for his role as king.
Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert and biographer Robert Lacey (opens in new tab) explained that the courses George will be taking were also taken by his father, Prince William, his grandfather, King Charles III, and his great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, all of whom studied the same subjects to prepare them for the reign to prepare.
It’s also likely that Prince William and King Charles III will help guide Prince George through his studies, just as the Queen did for William.
Robert Lacey explained: “There has always been a special closeness between William and the Queen and she has a special interest in him. When William turned into a teenager, she took him to Windsor Castle, opened the state chests and put him through the papers. It was William’s constitutional education.”
George is expected to learn about his official royal duties, the Constitution and the importance of the Commonwealth.
While not yet fully prepared for his future role, Prince George has understood that one day he will be king for a few years. His parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton (opens in new tab)He is said to have told him that he would be the successor in 2020, around the time of his 7th birthday.
