Salma Hayek Pinault Used This Viral Highlighter on Glamour’s Latest Cover

Salma Hayek Pinault is shine‘s February cover star, and while there’s a wealth of fascinating information in the interview (the white lotus shovel), it’s hard not to notice her flawless glamor and glowing skin.

Hayek looked every inch the real Hollywood movie star that she is, sporting fiery red lips, long lashes and most importantly, a flawless highlighter that makes her cheekbones pop. The look was created by Charlotte Tilbury makeup artist Sofia Tilbury, who was inspired by one of Hayek’s most memorable red carpet moments in the ’90s. “Salma Hayek loves a bold lip look and we were inspired by her sensual femme fatale moment Desperate Premiered in LA in the ’90s,” Tilbury said. “That rich scarlet lip paired with the matching slip – iconic.”

Other trends on the mood board included neutral mattes, bold lip looks, and frosted and flushed cheeks. “All the beauty trends that we’re seeing are taking on TikTok right now,” Tilbury said.

To get those frosted cheeks, Tilbury used Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighter in Champagne Glow, which acts like an IRL Instagram filter. The powder compact has been used during awards season by the likes of Lily James, Lizzo, Jessica Chastain and Hayek.

“Charlotte is known as the Queen of Glow, and Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighter is the new beauty glow secret that stars are obsessing over,” she says. “It’s like sculpting your complexion with light.”

The secret is to apply it to the highest points of your face, which will add some lift and brightness. “We brushed this over the cheekbones, jawline, brow bone, inner corners of the eyes, cupid’s bow and nose to enhance her beautiful features,” Tilbury said.

Made from skin-friendly ingredients like squalane, the formula acts like a liquid once applied to the skin and spreads seamlessly. “It’s a finely ground powder formula that glides on without settling into fine lines or wrinkles, but it’s also infused with smoothing emollients for a fluid look that catches the light and adds a multi-dimensional glow,” she says. “It’s just as beautiful in real life and on the red carpet as it is on camera.”

The beauty look is rounded off with the Magic Vanish Color Corrector and the Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer to remove dark circles before fixing them with the Airbrush Brightening Flawless Finish Powder. For the contours, Tilbury used Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer, then applied a soft, neutral matte eye using the Sophisticate palette.

For the perfect red lips, Tilbury used Lip Cheat Kiss n Tell liner, then topped it off with Red Wishes, “a super-pigmented poppy red lipstick with a high-impact, velvety finish.”

To ensure Hayek’s makeup held throughout the shoot, Tilbury used the Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. “This went viral on TikTok for a reason,” she says. “It sets makeup in place for up to 16 hours without fading or creasing and feels so refreshing and soothing.
