‘Serious collision’ involving motorbike closes major road – latest updates
A main road in north Manchester is closed tonight due to a “police incident”.
The A62 Oldham Road is closed in a north-westerly direction, carrying traffic from Manchester city center to Oldham and the M60. It is closed at the junction with Grimshaw Lane in Miles Platting.
Drivers are advised to use Briscoe Lane and check if their bus service is affected by the disruption. The exact nature of the incident is not known at this time.

“Due to a police incident the road is currently CLOSED north-west on approach to the junction with Grimshaw Lane,” Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted at 4:50pm. “Consider alternative routes such as Briscoe Lane.”

Greater Manchester Police were called at around 4pm today (Monday 20 February 2023) following a serious road traffic accident involving a motorcycle on the A62 at Oldham Road, Manchester.
The extent of the injuries sustained is currently unclear as medical treatment is still ongoing.
