Seven cases in latest Halton impaired driving report, including a collision
We have the latest disabled driving report from Halton Police.
There were seven cases in Halton last week:
On Monday February 13, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the Sovereign Road and Headon Forest Road area of Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 48-year-old Burlington man was charged with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or more within two hours.
On Monday February 13, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a collision in the area of Marjan Lane and Dryden Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 55-year-old Burlington man has been charged with having surgery while he was disabled.
On Tuesday, February 14, officers from the Halton Regional Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the Dorval Drive and QEW area of Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 29-year-old Oakville man has been charged with operating while he was disabled.
On Tuesday February 14, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the Plains Road West and Spring Garden Road area of Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 35-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with having surgery while he was disabled.
On Tuesday, February 14, officers with the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the Main Street East and Sinclair Boulevard area in milton. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old milton The man was charged with an operation within two hours while he was disabled and his blood alcohol concentration was 80 mg or more.
On Thursday February 16, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fairview Street and Drury Lane in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 32-year-old Burlington man was charged with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or more within two hours.
On Thursday 16th February officers from Halton Regional Police Service conducted a RIDE initiative in the Bronte Road and Derry Road area milton. A 33-year-old emerged from this initiative milton Man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or more within two hours.
Remember that driving under the influence of alcohol is a pending criminal offense. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect someone on the street is disabled.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or erratically;
- drifting in and out of lanes;
- Frequent tailgating and changing lanes;
- Make exceptionally wide turns;
- changing lanes or overtaking without sufficient clearance;
- overshooting or stopping at stop signs or traffic lights;
- ignoring signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or exiting intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, do not lower high beams or leave turn signals on; And,
- Driving with the windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, awareness and enforcement initiatives.
