This Saturday, the South Florida Bulls hope to patch the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 36.33 points per contest. South Florida and the Tulane Green Wave will face off in an American Athletic bout Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium. Tulane will stumble in on a win, while the Bulls will stumble in on a loss.
South Florida might have drawn first blood against the Cincinnati Bearcats last week, but it was Cincinnati who had the last laugh. South Florida was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap as they lost 28-24 to the Bearcats. Despite the loss, South Florida put up a solid performance from QB Gerry Bohanon, who passed for two TDs and 139 yards on 21 tries and lapped an additional 117 yards on the ground. Bohanon’s longest streak was 59 yards in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Green Wave had enough points to win, and last week still had some against the East Carolina Pirates, who won their game 24-9. Tulane’s QB Michael Pratt did his thing, passing on 34 tries for two TDs and 326 yards, in addition to a rushing touchdown.
South Florida needs to know they’re going to have an uphill battle given the 12-point spread they’re up against. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week should wait to place bets this time as the squad is yet to string together consecutive wins against the spread.
