Splatoon 3: How to level up quickly
Whether you’re new to the game or a longtime fan of the series, leveling up can sometimes feel like a drag. You can almost taste the cool upgrades and weapons locked behind a level cap like you’re staring sadly out the window at a restaurant. However, there is a way to speed things up! Here are a few tips for getting a leg up as you level up in Splatoon 3.
Play different game modes
While leveling up may seem like a grind, you’ll be rewarded for playing every day. When playing in the online multiplayer modes as well as Salmon Run, you will receive a bonus of 7,500 points for winning a mode for the first time each day, indicated by a special purple icon.
This not only gives you the opportunity to get better in the game, but also contributes to your catalog and your base level! Make sure to collect your daily winnings if you want to unlock more weapons and extras.
Eat in the cafeteria
Coloring lawns in Splatoon 3 can be exhausting. So if you want to enhance your experience, make sure you don’t inject on an empty stomach. You’ll find the cafeteria in the lobby, to the left of Judd and to the right of the dressing room. Here you can buy food and drinks that can increase your money, experience and equipment skills.
Certain types of food can either increase your experience points by 50% or double them entirely. You can even eat food that improves your entire team’s experience, which is great when you get together with the team to take part in a Splatfest!
Meal tickets can be purchased in a variety of ways, such as: B. by beating the single player mode in hero mode or by leveling up your catalog. Once you eat food, the effect lasts for 20 games – you can see how many choices you have besides your money and Super Sea Snail count when you finish a game. Don’t worry if you need to quit the game though, as the effect will persist even if you close the game until you’ve used all 20 opportunities to increase experience points.
Use your heart and ink in battles
While combat sometimes feels like a grind, that’s no excuse to slack off! You will be rewarded with additional experience and catalog points in the following ways:
- First Clear Bonus – 7,500 points for winning the first game/completing the first shift of the day
- Win Bonus – Extra 600 points for winning a game
- Time Bonus — An additional 300 points for completing a game, regardless of the outcome
- Ink Bonus – Extra 500 points for handing out 500p worth of ink
It’s clear that giving your all in matches, even if you don’t win, can give you an edge in leveling up. With enough practice and coordination with teammates, these victory bonuses will arrive in no time!
Squid Surge your way to the top!
Waiting for weapons and items to unlock can be frustrating, but it only makes accessing them all the more satisfying. If you’ve played Splatoon 2 and have save data on your console, there’s always an option to import your save data and access locked weapons earlier. Splatoon 3 is easily one of the best online multiplayer games on the Nintendo Switch, so all those hours spent grinding might go by faster than you can say “ink!”
