Carabao Cup pick today: Newcastle United win the cup vs. Manchester United (+120), 11:30am ET
Newcastle’s hopes of a place in the EPL top four have suffered some setbacks in recent weeks but the Magpies could lift their first major trophy since 1955 by beating Manchester United in the EFL Cup final this morning. Newcastle have played just 3 games this month compared to Manchester United’s 7 and things are looking a lot better for the underdogs. Because of this, the game will be to assist Newcastle to lift the trophy, which includes a win in extra time or on penalties.

NHL Pick Today: Washington Capitals vs. Buffalo Sabers – Over 6.5 Goals, 1:00 p.m. ET
If there’s one thing the Sabers can count on, it’s their strong offense. Led by Tage Thompson, Buffalo is the third-highest scoring team in the NHL.
The Sabers needed their strong offense to carry them, however, as they have also conceded the third-most goals per game since the beginning of the calendar through 2023. Now that the Capitals have Alex Ovechkin back on the ice, they too can contribute to a high-scoring game. Because of this, it will be the game to support the over.

XFL picks today: Arlington Renegades +5 over Houston Roughnecks (-110), 7:00 p.m. ET
Week 2 of the XFL season concludes tonight with a game between the Houston Roughnecks and the Arlington Renegades. Odds makers have the Roughnecks as roughly 5-point favorites, and that number seems excessive. It feels like an overreaction to Houston’s 33-12 win in his opener, helped by the fact Paxton Lynch was the starting quarterback for their opponents.
The Renegades have a very strong defensive line, holding Vegas to just 1.7 yards per rush attempt. They should make life difficult for Brandon Silvers, so getting them under cover will be the game.

Today’s MLS selection: Seattle Sounders ML via Colorado Rapids (-130), 8:00 p.m. ET
Home advantage could be crucial for the Seattle Sounders as they get off to a successful start in their MLS campaign. Last season, Seattle won 9 of their 17 home games in the league, while Colorado struggled on their trips, winning just 1 of their 17 away games. Because of the struggles the Rapid had on the street, the game will be to back the Sounders to win.
