“That’s A**”: After Calling Out Massive Snub, Sporting World Turns Salty at Jimmy Butler’s Triumph
Jimmy Butler’s calm, relaxed aura after Game 6 now makes all sense. It’s as if he almost knew history wouldn’t repeat itself. After failing to win Game 7 last season, the Miami Heat showed no mercy. They lost three times in the trot and had their backs to the wall. But their response was a brutal dismantling of the Boston Celtics, who narrowly failed to make NBA history. But while Heat fans are mostly celebrating, one particular detail seems to bother them.
The Vice City have now successfully secured their ticket to the NBA Finals where the Denver Nuggets await them.

Butler has confirmed his legacy in the postseason with some notable performances. Whether it was his 50-point win against the Milwaukee Bucks or his heroic win of the series against the New York Knicks, Butler pulled it off with ease. In the series against the Boston Celtics, however, that was far from the case. At least not from games 4 to 6.
After taking a comfortable 3-0 lead, Butler’s punching power didn’t seem to bother the Celtics anymore. He failed to deliver one of his signature closing performances, allowing Boston to rejoin the series straight away. But when it came down to it, the six-time All-Star delivered. With a team-best 28 points, Butler unleashed the two-way monster every rival fears. He was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP for averaging 24.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists for the seven-game thriller.

Now, his numbers might not compare to Butler’s, but the efficiency and consistency with which Martin shattered the Celtics’ defense deserved recognition.
NBA fans also agree that Martin should have been the one to be rewarded.
NBA Twitter thinks Caleb Martin Butler should have won
This postseason has shown the depth of the Heat’s talent pool. Sometimes it was Gabe Vincent or Max Struss, some of the complementary stars had their moments. But Martin dominated the entire series. With 19.3 points and 6.4 rebounds, he made up for mistakes from last season’s heartbreaking playoff loss to the Celtics. The 27-year-old went all out, shooting 60% from the floor and almost 50% from three — video game numbers against one of the NBA’s best defenses.
Without him, the Miami Heat probably would never have become champions of the Eastern Conference. And it seems that the fans share the same views. NBA Twitter praised Caleb Martin as their ECF MVP over Jimmy Butler. Here’s what they had to say:
