Over the past seven days, a number of top hires and promotions have been announced by companies across the Northwest.
The likes of The Co-op, JD Sports and KPMG are among those who have made big strides.

The cooperative
The cooperative has hired the former chief financial officer of fashion group N Brown as its new chief financial officer.
Rachel Izzard’s resignation from the Manchester-based company, whose brands include Simply Be and Jacamo, in November last year.
She has held this role since late June 2020, having previously worked for companies such as Aer Lingus and British Airways.

JD Sports
JD Sports has added a former Asos chairman to its board.
The retail giant, headquartered in Greater Manchester, has appointed Ian Dyson as non-executive director. He will join the Audit and Risk Committee and the Compensation Committee.
Mr Dyson is currently Chairman of Currys and was previously Chairman and Senior Independent Director at Asos.

Slater heels
Manchester and Sale-based law firm Slater Heelis has appointed a new digital marketing manager.
Doug Grant joins the company from employee engagement and wellbeing platform, Stribe, with eight years of experience gained in both internal and agency roles.
He said, “Slater Heelis is a forward-thinking company and their values align very well with my own.
“As a company that goes the extra mile for its employees, its customers and the communities in which it operates, I want to ensure that this ethos is translated into purposeful digital spaces for even greater reach for practice. “
Jackson Lees
The law firm of Jackson Lees has appointed three members of its team to assume leadership roles in shaping the firm’s future.
The firm, which has offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Wirral, has promoted Jen Goodwin, Lisa Hughes and Dottie Lee to deputy directors.
Managing Director Esther Leach said: “We are delighted to bring Jen, Lisa and Dottie on board as Associate Directors.
“As highly skilled and passionate employees in their current roles, they all have much to offer the company by helping to nurture the talents of their colleagues and the company itself.”
Kennedy’s
Kennedys, a Manchester law firm, has appointed a motor insurance specialist to spearhead its claims-free services in the UK.
John Gibson joins from Keoghs where he spent more than a decade, first as a partner and then as Motor Services Director for the last seven years.
His role included advising a portfolio of top insurers and overseeing tens of thousands of claims.
Mr. Gibson said, “I have followed Kennedy’s innovative service offering with great interest. The firm has built a solid reputation for providing first class legal services to the UK motor insurance market and I look forward to joining this dynamic team.”
Cynergy corporate finance
Asset-based lending specialist Cynergy Business Finance (CBF) has appointed Lorraine Udale as operations manager.
She joins the Manchester-headquartered firm from Praetura Invoice Finance, where she previously served as Operations Manager since August 2021.
She said: “It is an exciting time to join CBF’s experienced management team at a time of such significant growth. I look forward to contributing my part to the future development of the business and people.”

Digital entertainment and media platform Azerion has appointed two new employees to its Manchester team.
Dave Mullan and Emma Hart join the company as Account Executives. They join Business Director Hannah Atkinson and Eiña Crerand, who joined in the same roles a year ago.
UK Country Director Anna Forbes said: “At this crucial time for our industry, it is fantastic to have these two experienced media professionals strengthen our presence in Manchester and the regions.

Savills
Real estate consultant Savills has expanded its property management division and appointed Maxi Glas as Head of Service Partner Relationships.
Based in the firm’s Manchester office, she will work with property management within Savills on vision, strategy and policy.
She has over 17 years of finance and supply chain experience, having worked for Vodafone, GSK and Lloyds Bank. At Vodafone, she was a founding member of the Vodafone Procurement Company based in Luxembourg.
Sykes Holiday Homes
Sykes Holiday Cottages of Chester have hired Paul Oates as THG’s Head of Performance Media.
Michael Field, formerly SEO Manager, has also assumed the position of Head of Owned and Earned Media, while Simon Taylor has been promoted to Group Financial Reporting Director and Catherine Povah to Head of Commercial Finance.
Two trainees, Ethan Moss and Amran Uddin, were hired as full-time developers and Michael Evans and James Moore, two veteran developers, were selected to lead engineering teams.
Agent Academy
Agent Academy has appointed Yasmin Lord-Pottinger, former Head of Human Resources Operations at MyTutor.co.uk, as Head of Agent Academy.
She will replace Zoe Wallace, who has taken on the role of Partnerships Director for both Agent Academy and its sister company, Agent.
Ms Lord-Pottinger, who will be based in Agent Academy’s Manchester office on Oxford Road, said: “Agent Academy is an incredible business to be a part of right now, their creative and collaborative approach to tackling some of the most complex skills and talent challenges for educators and employers is impressive.”

Cheshire-based property giant Vita Group has strengthened its leadership team.
Ioannis Verdelis has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer and will oversee the platform’s investments, partnerships, joint ventures and divestitures.
He said: “This is an exciting new chapter as we scale the business into new territories and with fantastic brands across all living sectors. I look forward to growing relationships with trusted capital partners to help us accelerate this growth.”
KPMGUK
KPMG UK has strengthened its Manchester team with the promotion of 14 colleagues to Director.
Michael Douek and Louisa Shaw were appointed directors of KPMG’s assurance practice, while Imran Khan, Andrew Leighton, Mark Tomlin, Adam Caldwell and Janet Baker became directors of the firm’s advisory practice.
Elsewhere, Amanda Ruddiman, Patrick Simpson, Nicky Leonard and Tom Hodder have been appointed directors in Deal Advisory, while Charlotte Brown, Jenny Coyle and John Rippon have been appointed directors in the firm’s tax and KPMG practice.
Bond Turner
Bond Turner has promoted a member of its senior legal team to become the firm’s fourth female director.
Attorney Sara Stanger joins the board alongside Samantha Moss, Dawn O’Brien and Rachael Wong.
She said: “I am extremely excited to have this fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role at Bond Turner.”
4. Utility
Fiber broadband provider 4th Utility has hired a senior executive.
Steve Wilson, who has held senior positions at BT, British Gas and O2, among others, has been appointed by the firm as CEO of its new consumer division.
He will now oversee the ambitious internet provider’s efforts to triple its customer base over the next 15 months by leading its consumer-facing operations.
Kuits
Manchester law firm Kuits has expanded its commercial law team with the appointment of Nicola Knappett to senior associate and the promotion of Rebecca Bainbridge to senior associate.

Specialist lender Together has announced three promotions to its management team for Sarah Nield, Ryan Etchells and Julie Twynholm in Manchester.
Sarah Nield will assume the role of Group Chief Compliance Officer, Ryan Etchells has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer while Julie Twynholm has been promoted to Group Chief Risk Officer.

Scarce Patton Boggs
Squire Patton Boggs has announced that senior employment lawyer James Pike has been promoted to partner in Manchester.
