Toyota Agya GR Sport Debuts In Indonesia With Body Kit, Tweaked Chassis

It is available with a five-speed manual transmission.

Toyota’s GR badge is now featured on more models than ever. Not every car with the logo is the same, however, as the automaker offers the less powerful GR Sport line in various offerings around the world. This badge adorns the hatch of the Agya on a new variant of the city car now available in Indonesia.

The Agya GR Sport differs from other models with some unique exterior design elements. The hatchback features a new upper grille color, GR front bumper spoiler, machined 15-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. Toyota offers the model with two two-tone paint options and four other color options.

The automaker also added a GR aero kit that further enhances the styling. At the front, the hatchback has sportier air intakes, while aero flares adorn the bumpers and side skirts.

Inside, the Agya features an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with a rear camera. It also has wireless charging. Toyota embellishes the cabin with red stitching and GR branding throughout the cabin, including the steering wheel and seats. The seams form a nice contrast to the otherwise completely black interior.

Toyota offers the Agya with just one engine option across the range – a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine. The mill makes 87 horsepower and 83 pound-feet of torque and is matable with either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters. While Toyota hasn’t upgraded the Agya GR Sport’s powertrain, it has tuned the suspension and tweaked the steering setup.

Available options for the sporty hatch include a dashcam DVR system and a premium horn. The Agya is also offered with modern connectivity features such as Find My Car, roadside assistance, access to the support center and more. It starts at 237,500,000 Indonesian Rupiah ($15,366 at today’s exchange rate).

Toyota doesn’t offer the Agya in the US, so we won’t see the GR Sport variant here. The automaker’s entry-level model in America is the Corolla, which now offers a potent GR variant for the 2023 model year. However, it is much more than $15,000.
