U.S. Classic gymnastics live results, updates, highlights for Simone Biles, Suni Lee & more

There’s still another year until Paris 2024, but gymnastics fans are getting a treat this weekend when Simone Biles and Suni Lee return to elite competition at the annual U.S. Classic.

Biles hasn’t competed since she withdrew rom the finals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. She cited needing to prioritize her mental health, much like Naomi Osaka did on the WTA earlier that year. Since then, she has made a home for herself outside of professional athletics. Literally.

She and her now-husband, Packers safety Jonathan Owens got married in April and are building their “dream house,” per USA Today. She also created a clothing line with Athleta and a leotard collection with GK Elite.

Lee, on the other hand, took an untraditional route after winning gold in Tokyo, joining the Auburn gymnastics roster for a season. She ultimately had to step aside as she dealt with a kidney issue, unrelated to her career. St. Paul, Minn. surprised the Olympic medalist with a bronze bust of herself in Phalen Regional Park on Sunday, per CBS.

The duo will be joined by NCAA bars and floor champion Jordan Chiles out of UCLA and the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year Jade Carey out of Oregon State. Florida teammates Leanne Wong and Kayla DiCello will be joining the fantastic four in the second session, too.
