You can think of Reddit trophies as digital thank you notes or badges that you can display on your profile. How it works is that you do something that Reddit considers notable and you’re rewarded with a trophy.
It’s that simple. Keep in mind, however, that choosing who gets rewarded for what and with what is Reddit’s sole prerogative. So after you’ve done your part, you’ll just wait and hope for the best.
Let’s say you get a “rounded out” Reddit trophy for good links and good comments. Your trophy will remain intact even if you delete the winning comment.

According to Reddit, “The first rule of trophies is don’t talk about trophies.” That may be the case on Reddit, where it also has sole discretion as to who gets a trophy and for what, there are actual steps you can take to increase your chances of getting one.
To get a Reddit trophy, first familiarize yourself with all the available trophies.
Next, decide which trophies you want to work towards, and then start with the set actions required to get them. For example, if you want to get a rare “white hat trophy,” first find and report bugs in Reddit code.
If you want to get a club trophy for a year, two, or even thirteen, you only have to have a Reddit account for that long, even if you’re not active. Once you reach the milestone, your trophy will appear under your profile.
