What channel is BattleHawks vs. Brahmas on today? Time, TV schedule for XFL Week 1 game
The XFL kicked off its 2023 restart this weekend.
The XFL is a new reincarnation of the professional football league that shut down twice in the early 2000s. They have eight teams, four in the North and four in the South, that are scheduled to play a 10-week regular season. The league game is scheduled for Saturday, April 13th.
The BattleHawks have some valuable NFL experience on their coaching staff. Their head coach, Anthony Becht, not only spent 12 seasons as a tight end (2000-2011), but also served as the tight ends coach for the San Diego Fleet. They also have Ricky Proehl, who was part of the Rams’ Super Bowl run in 2000 while they were in St. Louis.
The BattleHawks roster includes quarterback AJ McCarron, who joins the XFL after spending nearly a decade in the NFL with the Bengals, Bills, Raiders, Texans and Falcons. Running back Brian Hill and wide receivers Marcell Ateman and Darrius Shepherd also spent time in the NFL before joining the BattleHawks.
The Brahmas have former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward as their head coach. He is tasked with an offense shaped by running back Kalen Ballage, who was drafted into the NFL by the Arizona State Dolphins in 2018 before playing for the Jets, Chargers and Steelers.
San Antonio also has running back Jacques Patrick, who has direct XFL experience from playing with then-Tampa Bay Vipers in their abridged 2020 season, and quarterback Jawon Pass, who succeeded Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in Louisville before moving to Texas Prairie View A&M changed .
