Google’s hardware event is happening in person, but thanks to the internet, you can watch the event live from the comfort of your own home. The event will be streamed live on Made by Google’s official YouTube channel.

What to Expect at Google’s Fall Event

So what hardware is likely to be showcased at the event? Google has already confirmed much of this, while rumors and leaks have revealed some of the other details.

1. Google Pixel 7 series

Google will introduce two models, the standard Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. The duo retains Google’s modern design, introduced in 2021 with the Pixel 6 series.

First, the phones retain the continuous rear camera bar, but Google is poised to differentiate the two by putting an additional camera in the Pro model, three in all. The Pixel 7 Pro also has the third rear camera in a separate dot cutout. The rear camera bar is metallic on both models, dispensing with the glass bar used on the Pixel 6.

A recent photo shared by Google shows that the Pixel 7 Pro has a slightly curved display. Google still uses a circular notch that is said to house an 11MP Samsung 3J1 selfie sensor.

According to 9To5Google, Google is rumored to be keeping the primary 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor and Sony’s IMX381 for ultrawide capture. One of the biggest changes is the use of Google’s second-gen Tensor G2 processor, which will reportedly use a 4nm die with Samsung’s unreleased Exynos 5300 modem.

According to a report from Android Authority, the Tensor G2 is reportedly paired with 12GB of memory and 128GB of storage on the Pixel 7 Pro. The vanilla Pixel 7 is rumored to pack 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, a 4700mAh battery with 30W charging support, a 6.3-inch display, and stereo speakers with Bluetooth Low Energy support.

As for colors, both models ship in Obsidian and Snow, but there’s a third unique option for each – Hazel for the Pro and Lemongrass for the Pixel 7.

Early pricing rumors suggest the Pixel 7 series will start at $599 for the standard model and $899 for the Pro model, which is the same as the introductory prices of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, respectively.

While other key Pixel 7 series features like battery, fast charging speeds, camera, price and more remain uncertain, it looks like you shouldn’t expect a massive update from the Pixel 6 series.

2. Pixel clock

Google is also preparing to release its first smartwatch. In shared teasers, the Pixel Watch has a sleek circular design with muted colors like the Pixel 7 series. It has a silver crown and a pill shaped button on the right side.

The Pixel Watch is rumored to be 40mm in diameter, 14mm thick and 30mm in diameter (minus the bezels), according to an early hands-on in the wild published on Reddit in April 2022 became.

The Pixel Watch has been rumored to ship with fitness and health tracking capabilities for heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature and more. Most importantly, the Pixel Watch’s rear sensors have been compared to the Fitbit Charge 5 launched in 2021.

Fitbit’s Charge 5 has multiple tracking features, including an ECG and EDA sensor. Google also notes in a teaser that Fitbit supports the smartwatch’s health and fitness features, so you may need a Fitbit account and the app to use some features.

According to a 9To5Google report, reports suggest that Google could use the Exynos 9110 chip, an old chip first seen in Samsung’s 2018 Galaxy Watch. On the plus side, Google will reportedly throw in over 1.5GB of storage to make up for this.

Under the hood, the Pixel Watch runs Wear OS 3, the latest version of Google’s smartwatch operating system.

3. Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro and Nest Doorbell (Wired)

Google’s Nest division is expected to unveil the next-gen Nest Wi-Fi mesh system. According to a leak on a B&H retail site, the next-gen Wi-Fi mesh system will be known as the Nest Wi-Fi Pro. It reportedly includes Wi-Fi 6E support, and prices for a single router start at $199.

Another potential announcement is the Nest Doorbell (wired), which will be a variant of the available Nest Doorbell (battery). Leaks suggest it could be shorter but thicker than the Nest Doorbell (Battery), although no major design changes have been spotted.
