When is Minecraft 1.20 out? Latest release date news for Bedrock update and what we know about new features

Minecraft fans will be excited to learn that some details about the game’s latest update have been revealed.

The new version was announced last year, but the company revealed some of the features we can expect.

Here’s everything you need to know.

What is Minecraft 1.20?

Minecraft 1.20 is an upcoming major update to the Bedrock Edition.

Game developer Mojang has revealed some features that will be available to players in the new update, including a surprising new biome that will be filled with cherry trees.

“This beautiful biome is filled with cherry blossom trees that give the horizon a unique look as their crowns are tall and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It’s no wonder three adorable mobs, pigs, sheep and bees, will be attracted to them and appear in this biome,” Mojang said in the announcement.

There’s also a Sniffer, an “old mob” that the team says was voted for by the fans.

According to the website, “When you learn the sniffer’s final form, the first step is to prepare for an adventure. You must head to the overworld and begin your quest. Sniff Eggs can be found in Suspicious Sands, which also contain other items such as pottery shards. Once you’ve dug up your egg, it’s time to help it hatch! I implore you to pay special attention to this part of the process, for you have not lived until you have seen a cold burst from its shell.

“When your snoop is born and you stop cooing about how cute he is, he will grow up to be a snoop. This mob is not only huge, but also helpful. A bit of a botanist, it will sniff out seeds that used to exist when they first roamed the overworld! You can plant them to fill your game with the new unique ornamental plants.”

When is it coming out?

Game developer Mojang announced at a Minecraft Live 2022 event last October that the next major Minecraft 1.20 update is just about to be released 2023.

The latest tweet couldn’t clarify when it will be available, saying it will appear “at a later date”.

However, if you want to test some of the features, you can do so through the Java snapshots and the bedrock betas.

However, the beta version of Andriod has been delayed due to technical difficulties.
