Will West Ham sack David Moyes? Next Hammers manager odds amid Premier League relegation battle
David Moyes will rely on his vast Premier League experience to keep West Ham in the top flight and keep his job at the London Stadium in 2023.
With the majority of clubs in the bottom half of the Premier League experiencing almost constant management upheaval this season, Moyes weathered a storm of pressure in early 2023 but his position remains uncertain.
Jesse Marsch was added to the list of losses as Premier League manager in February following the departure of Frank Lampard from Everton in February, with both clubs flirting with relegation. Wolves, Aston Villa, Southampton and Bournemouth have also changed managers this season.
Moyes brought new faces worth 161M to the dropzone at the start of the campaign.
However, their heavy defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion on March 4th was greeted with deep sadness by the fans who had traveled there.

Will West Ham sack David Moyes?
With the majority of sides threatened with relegation from the Premier League opting to sack their managers on either side of the World Cup break, it was natural that Moyes eventually came into focus.
Nathan Jones, Marsch, Lampard, Ralph Hasenhuttl, Steven Gerrard, Bruno Lage and Scott Parker have all resigned their roles and Moyes is grateful for the Qatar 2022 distraction to allow for a reset at West Ham. However, things have not been going well in recent weeks, and a 4-0 defeat at Brighton on March 4 caused widespread unrest among Hammers fans.
One thing on Moyes’ side, however, is his history in the top flight: he has more Premier League experience than the above six managers combined, with only Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger overseeing more Premier League games than the Scot.
His close relationship with club owners David Sullivan and David Gold – the latter passed away in early 2023 – was also crucial as the club prefers stability to risk.
He is now the favorite to be sacked as the next Premier League manager.

Has David Moyes ever been relegated from the Premier League?
A Premier League relegation battle is nothing new for Moyes after years of struggling to survive with Everton before turning the Toffees into challengers for Europe.
Despite his struggles at Manchester United, things never quite reached the disgrace of relegation fears at Old Trafford and his move to Sunderland in 2016/17 saw his first Premier League exit.
After first taking charge of West Ham in 2017, he guided the Hammers to 13th place at the end of 2017/18 but left the team when his contract expired at the end of the season.
Since returning to the club in December 2019, Moyes has kept West Ham out of relegation danger, guiding them to the 2022 UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
Moyes’ West Ham record and transfers
Despite West Ham’s status as a midfielder, Moyes has had a strong record compared to his rivals in recent seasons, with a higher win rate than during his Everton tenure.
Here’s Moyes’ tally in charge of the Hammers since replacing Manuel Pellegrini in December 2019.

In terms of the transfer market, the 2022/23 season was the most that Moyes has spent at West Ham – in both responsible stations – as he looks to build on their European adventure of the previous season.
However, their status as a rival team in Europe has resulted in a mixed return in the transfer market, with smart signings offset against striker flops.
