Woman Says She Found an Unexpected Note From an Employee in Her Online Order | LELA News
Ever received a package from an online order with an unexpected note?
Seeing a personal touch from the company can be exciting. But what if the news reveals a different story?
A TikTok user, Michelle (@micheifert), shared a video about a package she received from Dick’s Sporting Goods that contained an unexpected note from an employee.
The message read: “I’m sorry I forgot to wrap half of your order. We got fired and we were stressed!”
The video is over 498,400 views.
While social media users speculated if the employee meant to write “tired” rather than “fired.”
The story quickly gained traction on social media, with many users sharing their experiences with the store.
According to social media users and Trustpilot, Dick’s Sporting Goods has received over 400 reviews on product quality and shipping issues.
Complaints range from receiving items with security tags to receiving a box that could have contained an entire set of golf clubs but contained a broken box of Gatorade capsules and a bottle.
Additionally, some customers reported receiving only one shoe in their order. These negative reviews have resulted in the shop having a low rating of 1.6 stars out of 5 on Trustpilot.
Dick’s sporting goods
In recent years, like many businesses, Dick’s Sporting Goods has seen successes and challenges.
However, a recent article from CNBC recently stated:
“In 2022, the sporting goods business had an estimated market size of $67.2 billion and enjoyed its rank as one of the fastest growing industries in the US as of 2018. The most significant player in this space, Dick’s Sporting Goods, controls an estimated 14, 2% of the market, most from a single company.”
As of February 2023, there are 785 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in the United States. California has the most locations with 60 stores, followed by Texas and Florida Orlando

The good news is that the TikToker appeared relaxed when she received halfway through her order, after finding the note and saying, “It’s all good.”
But the note that an alleged employee left in a Dick’s Sporting Goods customer’s package has drawn widespread attention on social media. However, it is important to note that these are claims and that it is a developing story.
