World Snooker Championship 2023 scores: Latest Crucible results

Defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will be in contention for an eighth world title during the 2023 World Snooker Championships – unprecedented in modern times.

This year’s edition of snooker’s most prestigious and lucrative event – with a total prize pool of nearly £2.4 million – is being described as one of the most open ever due to an unpredictable season that saw several top stars fail to win a ranking title.

Once described by commentator Clive Everton as a ‘marathon of the spirit’, the final stages of the tournament will initially feature 32 players – 16 seeded and 16 round one qualifiers.

Each first round match (below) is the best of 19 frames, so the first player to win 10 frames wins the match.

In the first round, each player who has made it through the qualifying competition will be drawn against one of the top 16 seeded players, so no seeded players can be drawn against each other.

Seeded players are on the left with their seeding. Players on the right are randomly drawn qualifiers.

What is the highest break in the 2023 World Snooker Championship?

The 2023 World Snooker Championship’s highest break so far is 146, compiled three times – Ryan Day has made one and Neil Robertson has made two.

Day built his during the final round of qualifying at the English Institute of Sport, while Robertson compiled the break twice in the final three frames of his first-round match against Wu Yize. Incredibly, this was only the fifth and sixth time in Crucible history that the rare breakthrough had been made there!

If no one equalizes or gets better in the final stages, Day gets a third of the £15,000 high-break prize, and Robertson gets two-thirds.

Where will the 2023 World Snooker Championships be held?
