WWE files trademark for ‘Damage CTRL’
A new WWE trademark filing may have revealed the faction name of Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY.
On August 16, WWE registered the term “Damage CTRL” as a trademark. The full trademark application is available below:

Bayley, Kai & SKY have used the word “Control” in connection with their group since they debuted at SummerSlam last month. Kai also shared a social media post on Friday night reading, “Takeover. damage limitation”.
The faction of Bayley, Kai & SKY was formed after Paul “Triple H” Levesque took over as WWE creative director. At WWE After the Bell, Bayley explained her vision for the group.
“It’s something I’ve wanted for a while – I’d say a couple of years. And actually something I spoke to [Triple H] about before. I just wanted something different for the department and put in girls who I think were either underutilized or didn’t get that opportunity or didn’t get the spotlight. And just one way to develop myself further [in] many different variations of that faction or group that I wanted,” Bayley said.
“But when I got injured and had to spend more time really thinking about it, I knew I literally wanted girls who didn’t have the opportunity to be on Raw or SmackDown or who didn’t have the opportunity to feel what WrestleMania is like. Because that is the ultimate goal of all. I just felt like if I’m looking for girls who haven’t had this before, only the hunger will be so much stronger. It’s just going to be fresher for the fans and fresher for the dressing room where they’ll be happy to work with different people. So when I thought about it and thought let me watch NXT, it was so simple. I knew who I wanted and I knew who could benefit from it. I knew who to benefit from. And I really knew who was going to give in the dressing room.”
Bayley returned to SummerSlam after being sidelined for more than a year due to a cruciate ligament rupture. Kai was brought back to WWE after being fired from NXT this April, while SKY’s contract was due to expire shortly before her call-up to the main roster.
Kai & SKY are currently competing in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament. They face Alexa Bliss & Asuka in a semi-final match on this Monday’s episode of Raw.
