UFC 278 takes place on Saturday, August 20th at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The main event will be a match between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards for the UFC Welterweight Championship. Yanan (12-6) has struggled tremendously since signing with the UFC in 2017. She is 1-4 in UFC fights with her only win coming on November 24, 2018 against Lauren Mueller. Yanan struggled with the weight going from bantamweight to flyweight and then failed to gain weight in her second flyweight bout. Most recently, on April 16, 2022, she lost by unanimous decision to Mayra Silva in a superb fight that earned her the Fight of the Night award.
Pudilova (13-7) returns to the UFC after a solid run at Oktagon MMA. She was previously in the UFC, winning 2-5 against Sarah Moras and Ji Yeon Kim. Pudilova was 5-1 during her three-year stint in the octagon, earning another shot in the UFC. Nine of their 13 victories have come about by decision.
