Parc des Princes is the venue for the latest episode in their bitter rivalry, with Christophe Galtier’s men entering the game three points clear of Igor Tudor’s side. FC Lorient sit between PSG and OM in the table, while the visitors won at Sporting CP midweek to increase their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Regarding Lionel Messi’s availability after his recent calf problems, Galtier was positive and suggested that the legendary Argentine will be back for Sunday’s big clash: “Lionel trained normally on Friday morning and will do so again on Saturday,” said the French tactician. “We’ll see how he reacts to the units. At the moment he’s available for Marseille.”

PSG: It has been a wild week for the French champions with a raft of allegations including starman Kylian Mbappe’s dissatisfaction with the club and allegations of underhanded and destabilizing influences being backed by the club. Galtier was a frustrated figure during his press conference, who he believes was kidnapped to discuss non-football matters before a big game and after another big UCL game.

“First of all, you have to have control, experience and a certain age to handle all of that,” he said. “What I want to say is you never talk to me about football. I’m here as PSG head coach and proud of it, but we spend 90 seconds of a 10 minute press conference discussing the game. No matter what I tell you, I’ve read the opposite. I’m not here to comment on rumours. Kylian’s answer was the best – he spoke on the pitch by performing well and being man of the match. I haven’t taken the rumors up with him, but I see a serious Kylian in training – very invested.

“It doesn’t put any pressure on me, but it annoys me. It annoys me not to talk about football and my job. My passion is football, winning and getting the highest possible point in competitions. There’s no pressure with the other things connected I pay attention to what influences my squad.”

Despite this week’s drama, it’s easy to forget that PSG remain undefeated and could extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 with another win at the expense of a direct rival earlier in the season.

OM: Marseille were also unbeaten at home until the unexpected 2-1 defeat by AC Ajaccio last weekend. However, Tudor and his men are reversing their Champions League situation and have an opportunity here to prevent PSG from going too far already at the Ligue 1 summit.
