[Watch] “Mahi bhai, how is your knee?”

MS Dhoni, former India captain and current Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, recently responded to a fan’s concern about his knee with a smile and a wave of his hand, indicating he was fine.

The cricket legend, who recently celebrated his birthday, has been spotted in a new avatar. A video of him with a distinctive beard and new hairstyle is doing the rounds on social media.

Dhoni, the only international captain to win all three white ball ICC trophies, turned 42 on Friday July 7th. Fans gathered in large numbers outside his Ranchi home to get a glimpse of the birthday boy. The cricket superstar complied by waving to his admirers from his terrace.

Videos featuring images of Dhoni and his wife Sakshi were widely circulated on social media on Sunday. The two have arrived in Chennai for the audio and trailer presentation of the film “LGM” – Dhoni’s first film production venture under his company Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The CSK captain was greeted with shouts of “Dhoni, Dhoni” and showered with flowers.

In one of the viral videos, the former India national team captain can be seen responding to a fan’s question about his knee. One person asked:

“Mahi Bhai, how is your knee?”

The cricket legend responded with a smile and a hand gesture to confirm his knee was now fine.

Dhoni played the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with a knee injury. Despite his fitness struggles, he led CSK to a record-breaking fifth IPL title during the edition. Immediately after the tournament ended, the goalie-batsman traveled to Mumbai and underwent knee surgery at a prestigious hospital.

The legend of MS Dhoni continues to grow

Although Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, his popularity has hardly waned. As he led CSK during the 2023 IPL, fans filled the stadiums to support their superstar whether Chennai was playing home or away.

As the captain of the Indian team, the Ranchi-born cricketer achieved tremendous success. He led India to victory at the 2007 T20 World Cup and then the 2011 ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy in 2013. CSK has also won five IPL titles under him.
