iOS 17 latest beta version tweaks photo feature; know what your iPhone will get

Ever since Apple previewed iOS 17 during WWDC 2023, iPhone fans have been eagerly awaiting the launch of this feature-packed operating system. So far it is assumed that Apple will release the stable version of iOS 17 around the launch of the iPhone 15 series, which is rumored to take place in September 2023. However, Apple is putting iOS 17 to the test in the hands of developers by rolling out the beta 3 version of iOS 17. This has confirmed a number of new features and improvements that will soon arrive on your iPhones.

One of the most popular features is the new deleted photos menu option. Once iOS 17 arrives on your iPhones, you’ll notice that Apple has made changes to the user interface, replacing the individual “Erase” and “Restore” buttons with a compact three-dot menu icon at the bottom of the screen. Tapping this icon will bring up options to restore or delete items.

How does it work?

The function is simple: the new menu allows you to restore the photos or delete them completely if you don’t select any photos. However, when you select pictures from the album, you will be presented with the option to delete or restore the selected photos. If you tap on one or more Live Photos, you will also find a new option “Save as Video”. In addition, iOS 17 will show you the option to “Make this person less prominent” when deleting a specific person’s pictures.

Apart from that, Apple released several more features with the latest Beta 3 release. The Mental Wellbeing section of the Health app has undergone a minor design overhaul, with a streamlined look and color scheme based on Emotions. If you can’t wait for the release of the final version of iOS 17, you can sign up for the developer account. You must register your Apple ID with Apple’s Beta Software Program and agree to the Terms of Service. Now go to Settings > General > Software update and look for beta updates under Automatic updates. Now tap iOS 17 Developer Beta under Beta Updates.

After that, you need to go back to the software update settings and just tap on the iOS 17 developer beta update to download and install it.
