This is Direwolf in ARK: Survival Evolved

Looks: The direwolf is an oversized wolf often found in ARK’s snowy biomes.

Wild: The direwolf lives in packs of 3 to 4 of its own kind and attacks with them everything that comes into its field of vision. So when you’ve piqued interest, the pack leader will howl, which will give all pack members a boost and start the attack on you. All Direwolves will then pounce on you to prepare you a feast – even your mount is not safe. Flying creatures are best for escaping as wolves are extremely fast and will chase after you.

Tamed: When you tame a direwolf, not only do you have a cuddly and fast mount, the direwolf gets a bonus in the pack. This bonus increases attack damage by 5% per pack animal (max. 4 wolves per pack). The highest level wolf becomes the leader who, in addition to the damage bonus, gains the ability to howl, increasing the pack’s attack damage by 50% and the damage they take from an attack by 50% for 90 seconds. 25% discount.

How to tame the Direwolf in ARK

How to hunt a direwolf: Direwolf will attack you in packs, so keep an eye out for other animals nearby. For this reason, take enough bolas with you to set up the pack first. Once you’ve arrested them all, you can stun and tame them one after the other, or finish them off.

But you can also get on an elevated position, for example a large stone, or go straight onto your flying animal and shoot at the wolves from a safe distance.

How to tame him: Once he’s unconscious, it’s best to put the kibble or meat in his inventory and feed him that. To maintain the stun value, it’s best to use the anesthetic or Narcoberries. Normally, the direwolf shouldn’t need additional reassurance.

How to breed the Direwolf in ARK

How to prepare for breeding: If you have a male and a female specimen, it is best to build an enclosure large enough. Place both dinos in the pen and set them to roam from the command menu. Alternatively, you can also switch directly to “Pair”, but then a player must always be nearby, otherwise the pairing breaks off due to the rendering.

A direwolf’s mating interval is between 18 and 48 hours.

After successful mating, the direwolf female will be pregnant for about 4 hours if you play with the default settings. After these 4 hours, you can welcome the little direwolf pup into the world. As a puppy, he’ll take up another 5 hours of your attention, during which you’ll have to constantly put food in his inventory. Pay attention to the embossing intervals every 8 hours to tease the greatest potential out of the baby.

Once it attains juvenile status, it can support itself. The total ripening time is about 2 days and 1 hour.
