The Canadiens are starting a new program on Sportsnet and will be the first team to play Monday Night Hockey, a national game replacing previous Hometown Hockey broadcasts. Hockey fans across the country will see the Habs try to contain the hottest offensive team early in the season.

Jake Allen won’t be there to deliver another performance like the one he put together in Detroit that almost stole a win because this time his wife is the one doing the delivery. He’s on paternity leave, leaving Samuel Montembeault to make his second straight start.

As Montreal looks for a way to remain competitive in the competition, Martin St-Louis believes the best defense for his club will be a good offense, although this has not often been the case as Montreal have only five goals in three games. Their average will need to be raised to keep up with Sidney Crosby and company on their return to Bell Center and the coach is hoping Sean Monahan will be placed alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield to help them in that department.
