Dancing On Ice’s Carley Stenson latest axed from show moments after shoulder injury
It’s just a matter of weeks before the Dancing On Ice 2023 finale, but another skating couple missed out on the final elimination in the ITV series
Dancing On Ice 2023 star Carley Stenson collapsed as she was dropped from the ITV ice skating series as the sixth competitor.
The former Hollyoaks star was the latest to say goodbye to the show just weeks before the live finale – and she left the ice shortly after suffering a painful injury.
Host Holly Willoughby called medics to check on Carley, who revealed her shoulder “popped out” during her skate-off routine, causing her pain.
But the show moved on as Carley insisted she was fine and that her shoulder was “re-dipped.”
After another week of skating, it was actress Carley and singer Siva Kaneswaran who received the fewest public votes and had to take part in the dreaded skate-off.
As the performances drew to a close, the two celebrities and their professional skating partners Mark Hanretty and Klabera Komini joined hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield to find out their fate.
Then Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse all voted to save the Siva couple and Carley was sent home.
When the news broke, Carley broke down in tears and admitted she would miss her skating partner Mark “so much”.
Praising her experience on the show, she had her injured arm behind Mark’s back but seemed fine.
Through tears, she said, “It’s only gotten harder. I will miss this man. I really enjoyed it, it’s all a bit blurry now. But I enjoyed it, thank you very much.”
Darren Harriott became the fifth star to leave Dancing On Ice after a tense skate-off against Siva Kaneswaran.
“I lasted much longer than I expected. I thought I’d be out before the show started,” Darren said.
“Honestly, thank you, thank you everyone. I’ve never skated before. Everyone was so nice, all the pros and all the celebrities.”
He went on to praise professional partner Tippy, saying, “I’ve never met anyone like Tippy… Your enthusiasm!”
Fans took to Twitter to say their goodbyes after watching Darren skate for the last time.
“What a lovely real guy Darren seems to be, he did so well too! said one person.
Another added: “Sad to see Darren and Tippy leaving,” while one wrote: “Nice of Darren to give Tippy a little kudos considering how badly this show usually treats the pros. He wasn’t great but he will miss him.”
Siva was previously unable to perform due to illness and said that he was “eviscerated” after being forced to withdraw.
A week before Darren’s exit, EastEnders star Patsy Palmer was eliminated while Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was voted out the week before.
Michelle Heaton and John Fashanu were the first stars to leave the current series in weeks two and three.
Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 18:30 on ITV1 and ITVX.
