This multi-year partnership marks DICK’s first-ever company with a WNBA franchise and expands the company’s investments in women’s sports
PITTSBURGH, August 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — With the WNBA Playoffs underway, DICK’S Sporting Goods today announced a partnership with Chicago Sky, making DICK’S the team’s official sporting goods retailer and marketing partner. This multi-year partnership furthers the company’s investments in women’s sport, player development, youth athlete engagement and the Chicago community. Sky fans can now see DICK’S Sporting Goods signage in the arena during the playoffs.
As the official sporting goods retailer and marketing partner of Chicago Sky, DICK’S is committed to working with the Chicago Sky organization to develop community-driven programming to inspire young athletes and generate greater interest in Chicago Sky, its players and the game . Community initiatives include:
- basketball skills clinics;
- shopping events for local charities and sports organizations; and
- Involved in the Chicago Sky Basketball Academy.
The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, recently housed over 700 children in the Chicago Sports Matter Day area In addition to two Sky players, support for the continues Chicago community through:
- “Night of Sports” which will host Chicago Sky for DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation’s Sports Matter program and will provide tickets to a Chicago Sky home game to young athletes from partner organizations.
- Sports Matter charitable grants to support the Chicago Sky Cares Foundation’s charity ticket program, which provides community organizations, youth groups, deserving families and volunteers with Chicago Sky tickets they otherwise would not have access to.
