Easy SNL Halloween Costumes And How To Buy Them
Halloween can be an overwhelming task. Attempting to put costumes together brings people either immense joy or absolute fear. If you’re like me and you live in Dreadcamp, I have a solution for you. The classic comedy sketch show Saturday night live has almost 50 years of hilarious characters that make great Halloween costumes, and many of them are super easy to put together.
With a ton SNL’s popular sketches that gets millions of views, there are many costume ideas that are recognizable, fun, and simple. I’ve rounded up five unique and easy options for you.
The Yeet Rock Boys
Timothée Chalamet may have made fans swoon his embodiment of Harry Styles, but the sketch of his that I love and that will inspire a great costume is the guys from Yeet Skirt. This costume was very popular last year and I have a feeling it will be great for years to come. Chalamet and Pete Davidson play two rappers who aren’t good at their jobs and whose main lyrics are, you guessed it, “Yeet” and “Skirt.”
Although Pete Davidson is gone SNL Last season, this sketch would live on forever as a Halloween costume. All you need is a tracksuit, some accessories and your rap skills.
If you really want to go beyond:
The lonely island
Another super easy, music related one SNL Costume is said to be the guys from The Lonely Island. By following this simple guide, you can dress like The Lonely Island in their best videos like “I’m On A Boat” or “YOLO”. Honestly, the most important part of pulling off that fit is knowing the lyrics to your favorite Lonely Island songs.
The girl you wish you hadn’t started a conversation with at a party
Throw on a pink party dress and your best Valley Girl accent, and you’ll be that iconic Cecily Strong character. Every once in a while, she’d pop up on Weekend Update to talk (more like a phone call) with Seth Meyers. However, the trick is to be the accent but not really the girl that people wish they hadn’t started a conversation with at the party.

- Origami Bird (that’s Spanish for goose)
target lady
Enthusiasm and a red slate are really all you need to pull off Kristen Wiig’s target lady. Her character would excitedly check out customers at Target in the 2010s, and it’s hilarious. While you don’t need a bowl cut, it would sure help sell the look. However, I think as long as you have the vest and the hand gestures, you’re good to go.
Vance from What’s Up With It?
This one might be cut a bit lower, but for those who get it, it’s hilarious. Vance is the guy in the background of the What’s Up With That sketches. Jason Sudeikis, now from Teddy Lasso Fame plays the backup dancer and he’s hysterical. Ditch the tracksuit and moves, and you’ll be ready to rock a Halloween party with this easy costume.
Don’t be like everyone else and be Ted Lasso; be Vance instead!
mom jeans
While mom jeans are back in fashion, this sketch shows the jeans in a fun way and makes for a great costume. So grab a pair of mom jeans, pull them up as high as you can, and do the little dance that Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler did in the early 2000’s skit.
You’ll really pull off the mom look when you add:
Season 48 of SNL has begun with new hosts and musical guests, and it will remain an integral part of TV program 2022 through this television season. If you’re looking for a culturally relevant, fun, and easy Halloween costume, look no further than SNL.
