Fishing 101: How to catch fish

In order to catch a fish, you must first complete the “Fishing Expedition” quest, during which you will receive a fishing rod from Goofy.

After getting a fishing rod, simply approach any body of water and cast out your line. You should make sure to aim for the waves to make sure you catch something.

Once you have a bite, your float will rock under the water, indicating it’s time to turn. In order to successfully reel in a fish, you must press the left mouse button (or equivalent key) each time the circle turns green.

If you fail, the fishing spot will turn red and you will have to try again. When you successfully reel in a fish, you will receive an on-screen message detailing the fish you just caught.

Besides catching fish, you should also keep an eye out for different colored fishing spots. These fishing spots offer different levels of difficulty and reward the successful with rarer and heavier fish that earn you more money.

Here’s what you need to know about each of the three different fishing spots:

• Standard white colored fishing spots requires you to succeed on all two reeling attempts.

• Fishing spots colored blue requires you to successfully complete all three roll attempts. Blue fishing spots usually reward medium rarity fish like shrimp and bream.

• Gold colored fishing spots requires you to successfully complete all four roll attempts. Gold fishing spots often reward this rarest Fish species such as lobster and white sturgeon.
