How to Add Apple AirPods to Find My on iPhone

If you want to track the location of your AirPods when you lose them or when you can’t find them, add your AirPods to Apple’s Find My feature. You can then use both your iPhone and the iCloud website to find the whereabouts of your AirPods. Here’s how.

Step 1: Activate Find My on your iPhone

The first thing you need to do is enable Find My on your iPhone. To do this, first launch Settings on your iPhone.

From Settings at the top, tap your iCloud name.

Select the iCloud name at the top.

On the Apple ID page, choose iCloud > Find My iPhone.

Enable the Find My iPhone option. Then enable the “Send last location” option as well.

If prompted, enter your iCloud password to confirm your action.

Step 2: Enable location services on your iPhone

Find My needs access to the location of your phone and AirPods in order to track them. To do this, you need to enable location services on your iPhone as follows.

Launch Settings on your iPhone and tap on “Privacy”.

Choose "privacy" in the settings.

Select “Location Services” and turn on “Location Services”.

Step 3: Pair your AirPods with your iPhone

Now that you’ve enabled both Find My and Location Services, pair your AirPods with your iPhone so you can locate your AirPods if they go missing.

To do this, open the settings on your iPhone and tap on “Bluetooth”. Then turn on the “Bluetooth” option if it isn’t already.

With your AirPods in their case, open the case lid and bring the case close to your iPhone. You will see a prompt on your iPhone. At the prompt, tap Connect.

Follow the onscreen instructions and your AirPods will pair with your iPhone. Then you can find the location of your AirPods with Apple’s Find My feature.

Find the location of your AirPods with Find My

To confirm that your AirPods are indeed trackable, launch the Find My app on your iPhone.

In the Find My app, tap Devices and select your AirPods.

Select the AirPods in the list.

You’ll see the current location of your AirPods on a map.

If you want to find your AirPods on the internet, go to the Find My website and sign in to your iCloud account. Then select All devices > [Your AirPods] and you will see their location.
