Forwarding emails as attachments in Gmail is always an option. However, if you want to keep the same email thread going, you can attach one or more emails to your reply instead.

Use the pop-out window

If you find it easier to use the pop-out for your replies, you can attach an email just as easily.

Start with one of the following:

method one: Select the email, click the In New Window icon (a box with an arrow sticking out of it) in the upper-right corner, and then click the Reply icon (an arrow pointing left).

Select New Window and then Reply

method two: Select the email, click the reply icon (a left-spinning arrow), and then click the open in a popup icon (a box with a smaller box inside) in the reply box.

Select Reply and then Open in popup

method three: Right-click the email in your inbox and select “Reply”. This will automatically open the reply in its own window.

Choose Reply from the context menu to open a new reply window

Once you’ve opened your reply in a new window, drag and drop the email you want to attach into that window. As with the Reading Pane option, when you drag, you’ll see Drop emails here.

Drag the email to the reply box in the new window

You will see the attached email at the bottom of the reply. Attach another email using the same steps or complete your message and click send when done.
