Lephantis is a three-headed Infested Boss found on Deimos. This fight is divided into two phases. In the first phase, players independently fight against three heads. In the second phase you have to destroy all three heads at the same time.

THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Lephantis has activated a form of damage reduction, intrinsic damage resistance to your attacks and is immune to status effects. Damage mitigation is a mechanic that increases the enemy’s resistance to your attacks when you deal damage. The more damage you deal, the less damage the boss takes. This mechanic will reset if you stop damaging the boss for a few seconds. Alternatively, you can bypass this mechanic entirely by using weapons with high Multishot and Critical stats, as explained toward the end of the guide.

Lephanti’s Boss Guide

The Lephantis fight is divided into two phases in which you both have to destroy the heads that make up Lephantis itself. Before entering the boss arena, stock up on energy and ammo. If you attempt this fight on Steel Path or in a Sortie, kill a few trash mobs to trigger your Galvanized mods and Weapon Arcane effects.

phase one

Lephantis will emerge from the ground beneath you during this first stage, revealing one of his three heads. The head is only vulnerable when it opens its mouth, giving you a short damage window. Three heads will spawn during the fight:

  • Infested Corpus: Opens its mouth and spits out poison darts.
  • Infested Grineer: Swings his mutated scythe in a wide arc, opening his mouth and throat.
  • Ancient infested: Opens its neck flaps before firing toxin projectiles at you.
    • Despite the damage, shields are not bypassed.

Focus on taking down one head at a time, using high-crit weapons and multi-shots to burn through his health pool. If you don’t destroy a vulnerable head, it will burrow into the ground and reappear after a few seconds. We strongly recommend that you slow down the Lephantis heads when they are vulnerable, as this will expand your DPS window. Nova’s Molecular Prime, Xaku’s The Lost, Frost’s Snow Globe, and Sevagoth’s Gloom can all slow the afflicted minds. Destroy all three heads to start the second phase.

phase two

The infested heads will burrow into the ground again, collapsing the ground beneath you. This revealed an infested chamber deep within the ship that revealed Lephantis’ true form. You must destroy all three heads to defeat Lephantis using the same strategy as before.

Each head will try to attack you when you are in sight, using the same attack as in the first phase. Concentrate on one head at a time, using slow effects to expand your DPS window. Destroying a head permanently removes it from combat, so focus on the heads that are giving you the most trouble – probably the Ancient Infested the most. Use your Bullet Jump liberally here to avoid getting hit. Pop all three of Lephantis’ heads to end the fight and reveal the path to the extraction. Defeating Lephantis will grant you a random Nekros Component Blueprint.

Bring a crewmate with you

Railjack’s R9 Command Intrinsic lets you summon a crewmate during each mission. This teammate bypasses Lephantis’ damage resistance, even on Steel Path. Give them a good primary weapon and one crew member is more than capable of killing Lephantis alone.

Lephantis is an absurdly powerful boss on Sorties or Steel Path difficulty. To this end, You should use weapons with high multishot, fire rate and critical stats. Spec your weapons for Corrosive, as Lephantis takes 75% more damage from Corrosive damage.

You want high multishot and crit stats because Lephantis has a form of damage reduction, which means this boss’ damage resistance scales with your damage output. The more damage you deal, the tougher the boss gets, up to a cap of 90% damage reduction. Damage mitigation doesn’t account for multishots, critical damage modifiers, or headshot multipliers; Base damage and elemental damage modifiers are most affected by this system.

Some good weapons are:

  • Acceleration: The best choice for a fast-firing, critical-hit rifle.
  • Kuva Hek: Alternate fire fires four rounds at once, resulting in immense multishot value. With the right mods, it can also critically hit.
  • Pyrana (Prime): A high baseball count, good rate of fire, and critical stats make the Pyrana a perfect contender for this fight.
    • The Kuva Brakk is also an option if you own it.
  • Phenomenon: Multiple headshots turn this DMR into a minigun, allowing it to destroy Lephantis’ health pool.
    • Land headshots on the forage enemies that spawn to attack the Incarnon form; Damage to Lephantis is not registered as a headshot.
  • Emperor Vandal: Fires quickly and has good critical stats. Summon the weapon through your gear.
  • 7-7-7 Amplifier: The primary fire on this Operator Booster deals rapid damage. Combine it with Madurai’s Void Strike to quickly kill one of the heads.

As for Warframes, Bring a Nova. Nova’s ultimate slows heads by 75% with a bit of ability power in your build. This should give you more than enough time to destroy at least one head. Subsume Roar or Eclipse on your Nova to further increase your damage.
